Ellie Goulding Wore Cameron Hancock To The BRIT Awards 2023

Ellie Goulding attended The BRIT Awards 2023 held in London on Saturday (February 11).

The singers used to present a luxe bobo style, then she gave us a mix of tailored looks, glamorous gowns, and a perplexing voluminous silhouette phase.

But on this occasion she gave us something totally unexpected.

In case you hadn’t noticed: breastplates are trending.

Zendaya gave birth to this trend back in 2021 wearing Tom Ford and Loewe looks.

Michaela Coel served up a Bevza breastplate during her ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ promo tour last year.

Olivia Wilde wore a Gabriela Hearst leather breastplate for the ‘Women Talking’ LA premiere.

Sydney Sweeney went futuristic in her LaQuan Smith breastplate for the 2022 GQ Man of the Year Awards.

Rihanna announced her pregnancy in Loewe during her Super Bowl performance wearing one, after Ellie’s moment in custom Cameron Hancock; making a case that the breastplate is back (and better than ever).

I am enjoying this trend. Mostly because I don’t feel like I’m seeing the same look as each outing has been very distinctive. 

This isn’t a Robert Wun situation where I am seeing different versions of the same thing over and over, or a Pink PP repetition of the same colour.

I would say be prepared to see more breastplates on the red carpet in the future.

The key Ellie’s successful outing was the simple styling, not desperately trying to draw attention to herlself.
