Rihanna Wore Loewe & Alaïa Performing During The Super Bowl LVII Half-Time Show

We have seen some Super Bowl half-time show performances where the entertainer will bring on a surprise guest.

Rihanna did that by indirectly announcing that she was pregnant with her second child.
Rihanna’s representatives confirmed she was pregnant shortly after her performance.

Considering Rihanna hasn’t performed in over five years she was in great form, sending the audience wild as she launched straight into ‘Better Have My Money’ which was somewhat ironic considering she was not being paid for her performance.
Other classic hits followed including ‘Umbrella,’ ‘Diamonds,’ ‘We Found Love,’ ‘Rude Boy,’ ‘Only Girl (in the World)’ (my personal favourite) before she closed with the euphoric ‘We Found Love.’
Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson designed Rihanna’s flight-inspired look.
The custom-made pieces draw inspiration from flight gear and were designed to build volume in step with the dynamic scenography of the show.

Defying the norm of performers stripping back layers to reveal another, Rihanna approached the reveal in reverse: starting with a simple catsuit layer, the dancers and choreography visibly construct the additional elements during each musical section.

Crafted in bold red to match the stage set, the catsuit formed a sleek foundation in silk jersey, sculpted leather corset, and flight suit in cotton canvas providing multiple layers and textures.

Speaking of layers, the look also featured custom Alaïa coats designed by Pieter Mulier.
Inspired by the codes of the Maison, Rihanna first wore a red leather puffer scarf with integrated gloves, followed by a red leather maxi puffer coat with integrated gloves which closed the show.

Looking back at the Super Bowl press conference, the draped coat makes so much sense now.

Brooches from Joseph Saidian & Sons plus jewels from Bayco and Messika completed her look.
