Ava DuVernay attended the 2022 Portrait Of A Nation Gala on Saturday (November 12) in Washington, DC. 

We’ve all known the director for her love of the fit-and-flare silhouette, as this was her go-to style for so long – especially during awards season.

In more recent times she has been wearing a lot of Louis Vuitton, so I was delighted to see her wearing something more joyous on this occasion. 

And it doesn’t get more joyful than an ombre sequin gown.

I love how the gold metal waistband is added to this Markarian Resort 2020 gown as it highlights just how gorgeous her figure is.
