The Academy Museum Gala Menswear

The 2022 Academy Museum Gala which was held on Saturday (October 15) in Los Angeles, California, saw many gents uphold the black tie dress code.

Eddie Redmayne, who shares the same stylist as Emma Corrin, wore a Prada dark gray double-breasted tuxedo with a black satin tie.

I love how the light green shirt helps him standout among the men, but I did find myself questioning the length of his trousers.

As always, my Goldilocks gene kicks in as I’m looking for a trouser length that is just right.

Colman Domingo usually goes left, when everyone else goes right, as the actor will often rock a gold jacquard suit to a black-tie event.

Who can forget this hot pink Atelier Versace suit or his animal print Dolce & Gabbana suit?

On this occasion he served up classic elegance in a timeless tuxedo.

I can’t remember the last time he wore a suit like this.

But as we said on Selena Gomez posts, not every red carpet needs to be all bells and whistles. 

Michael Ward is one actor who I’m really enjoying seeing on the red carpet at the moment, with a huge sense of pride seeing the British actor finally crack Hollywood.

He may not step outside the box, but in Dolce & Gabbana, he has found a brand that suits him perfectly.

A Saint Laurent flared, velvet suit?

Yes please.  I’m swooning over how smooth this suit is on Danny Ramirez. 

Speaking of swooning, Diego Boneta was looking delicious in Giorgio Armani.

I love velvet at the best of times, but from October onwards, I’m like a moth to a flame. 

Luca Guadagnino is quickly becoming one of my best dressed of the year for his creativity and consistency. 

I’ve just spent the last 5 minutes trying to figure out what Evan Ross’ Saint Laurent shirt is made out of.

Is it leather? Pleather? Plastic? Satin?  I have never seen anything like it.

Usually, I’m not the biggest fan of a black and white tuxedo.  It always gives me waiter vibes, but Jay Ellis was looking so sharp in this Brunello Cucinelli suit styled with a Cartier watch. 

Ashton Sanders did adhere to the black tie dress code, but put his own spin on things by adding a buckle accented black vest from post-fetish leather brand Zana Bayne.
