Lizzo Wore Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture To The 2022 MTV VMAs

Lizzo was the first celebrity to arrive for the 2022 MTV VMAs which was held at the Prudential Center on Sunday (August 28) in Newark, New Jersey, prior to her performance.

Opting for black to match the black carpet, the singer wore a Jean Paul Gaultier x Glenn Martens Spring 2022 Haute Couture look.

I really want to immerse myself in the artistic side of this strapless, voluminous gown, but my first reaction to this was, “is Lizzo dumpster diving?”

Lizzo is a beautiful woman, and I’m sure many are saying “yes queen” on Instagram and Twitter when referring to this look.

But doesn’t this queen deserve wear something that doesn’t serve to hide her?

This kinda feels lazy. Especially considering Lizzo is the queen of flamboyance.  

We’ve seen so much better from her in the past that this is beyond disappointing.

Where is Donatella Versace, Thom Browne or even Peter Dundas when she needs them?
