Sarah Jessica Parker Wore Christopher John Rogers To The 2022 Met Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker returned to the Met Gala red carpet on Monday (May 2) in New York City, following her absence from last year’s event.

The Met Gala veteran wore a custom look from Christopher John Rogers.

It is almost hard to believe that this black and white dress is from the New York based designer, as we are so used to him presenting bold, rainbow hues, but his love for exaggerated silhouette and work with taffeta are still on display.

The designer shared that this look pays homage to Elizabeth Hobbs Keckley, who made history as the first Black female fashion designer in the White House, and this look was inspired by a dress she made in the 1860s.

Being the fashion historian that SJP is, I’m not at all surprised that so much detail went into this design, which was of course topped off with a Philip Treacy hat which provided the only pop of colour.

Fred Leighton jewels completed her look.
