Kim Kardashian Wore Vintage Jean-Louis To The 2022 Met Gala

Kim Kardashian attended the 2022 Met Gala on Monday (May 2) in New York City following the 2022 White House Correspondents’ Dinner the day before.

The reality star wore Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday, Mr President’ dress designed by Jean-Louis.

The iconic dress, which sold for $4.81 million back in 2016, came with many stipulations.

Kim wasn’t allowed to have the dress altered in any way, nor was she allowed to lotion her body before getting into the dress.

I would say fake tan was also not allowed, as her hands are a totally different colour to the rest of her body, and touching the dress appears to be on the no-go list, as her fingers are hovering over the dress.

When I heard the news yesterday I was super excited, feeling that it would be an iconic moment.

She looks beautiful, but I’m not wowed by this outing. I think that is my own fault for building up the moment in my head.

The platinum blonde hair, which is no doubt an homage to the original wearer, would’ve been more impactful had she worn her hair down, or sported a blow-out.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t feel so comfortable wearing such a historic dress, with such high value.

My anxiety would be through the roof.

Edit: I have just learned that Kim changed into a replica dress after exiting the red carpet. She only wore the original version of the dress to walk the red carpet.
