Hunter Schafer Wore Rick Owens To The 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

When I saw Hunter Schafer on the red carpet at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (March 27), I couldn’t help but wonder, would she have received the same vitriol as Kristen Stewart if she was an Oscar nominated actress and she presented her “authentic self” on the red carpet on Oscar night?

Hunter has a very unique style, as beautifully presented in this Rick Owen Fall 2022 bleached denim patchwork gown, which hardly anyone else could pull off with such ease, which she styled with De Beers jewels.

I can’t see her diluting her style to dress in any way that sees her conforming to rules she has never played by.

Yes. You could say that Kristen “conformed” when she signed that Chanel contract, but I feel, now more than ever, that the fashion landscape with these young celebrities is changing.

Will we continue to see those “locked in” contracts as we did before?  I don’t think so.
