2022 Costume Designers Guild Awards

The 2022 CDGA (Costume Designers Guild Awards) took place on Wednesday (March 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Ariana DeBose was in attendance, and I was happy to see her wearing this Moschino Fall 2022 black strapless column gown which had me thanking the fashion gods that I didn’t have to be critical with this look, and that she didn’t wear those opera gloves we saw on the runway.

I would say that along with her Alexander McQueen look for the NAACP Image Awards, this is one of her best looks of the year. I might even go further back and say since her ‘West Side Story’ promo tour started.

What makes this look for me is the abstract cut-out, the smoothness of the look, the bold makeup, her glowing skin and her smile.

This is a look both Ariana and her team can be proud of.

Fingers crossed that she brings this good fortune to the BAFTAs.

2022 Costume Designers Guild Awards Storm Reid in Prada

Storm Reid was also a woman in black, wearing a Prada V-neck guipure lace dress with black Prada leather sandals.

The ‘Euphoria’ actress loves to take risks and have plenty of fun on the red carpet, but it was nice to see her channel a romantic aesthetic on this occasion, but some might have wanted more from her considering the occasion.

Karen Pittman was one to live up to the occasion wearing a Georges Chakra Couture Spring 2022 Couture blazer dress.

Between the pleated asymmetrical detailing plus the white-gold feathered sleeve and train, this look embraced the event more than most others.

Casadei sandals completed her look.
