Thandiwe Newton Wore Oscar de la Renta To The 2021 Gotham Awards
Thandiwe Newton joined Kristen Stewart and Dakota Johnson the red carpet for the 2021 Gotham Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday (November 29) in New York City.
If you’re having a mild case of déjà vu, that’s because Thandiwe’s Oscar de la Renta Resort 2022 top and skirt features the same laser cut sequin detailing we saw on Gemma Chan’s Cannes Film Festival dress from the same collection.
The undergarments – which weren’t a match to her skin-tone – diluted this dress a little for me, but the retro styling including a silver sequin headband (which the actress shared on Instagram that she “snipped off a bit of the skirt and put it in my hair”), and silver Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Betty’ platforms made up for it.
Cicada earrings completed her look.
