Carrie Underwood Wore Iris van Herpen Haute Couture To The 2021 Latin American Music Awards

Yup.  The title is correct.

Carrie Underwood did attend the 2021 Latin American Music Awards in Florida on Thursday (April 15).

Lil Nas X collaborated with Country legend Billy Ray Cyrus, so I guess it was only a matter of time for Country and Latin to cross over.

While I’m not entirely sure that is the case musically, it was a breath of fresh air to see Carrie in a dress that didn’t have layers of tulle, a princess silhouette, or a gown drenched in sequins.

Iris van Herpen is one of those precious brands which we reserve on our wish lists for a chosen few. Heidi Klum wasn’t on that list, and this was proved valid when she didn’t make the dress work.

Carrie wouldn’t have been on my wish list either, because her style is so very specific, but I have to say I love her in this Spring 2019 Haute Couture gown.

I have seen some publications say that this is a butterfly dress, when it’s actually a dress whose creation is multi-layered, gradient-dyed silk panels of tyrian purple and shire red, which are heat-bonded to fine three-dimensional drawings that are laser-cut of black mylar and cotton, that hide and reveal anamorphic faces, creating surreal spectral anatomy.

I would love to see this in motion.

Are you appaulding this moment as much as I am, or do you want to see Carrie to stick to tried and true?
