Yesterday was a very special day in celebrating America’s brighter future which will have an impact on us all.
The inauguration special concluded with a fireworks display over the nation’s capital and a performance by Katy Perry.
Katy has never been afraid to showcase her patriotism wearing red, white and blue stars and stripe costumes, but much like Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, Katy didn’t make this “The Katy Show,” as she opted for a sophisticated custom look from Thom Browne in winter white, with red and navy covered buttons.
As good as this look is, I have a strong feeling that this would’ve been so much better without the corset.
Perhaps had it been built into the skirt instead of protruding as it is, the corset would feel less like an after-thought.
Also the skirt could’ve been an inch short to prevent the dent just before the hemline (one of my pet peeves).
The dress was inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s Oleg Cassini dress worn to the 1962 inauguration event.
Rahaminov Diamonds completed her look.
Orlando Bloom complemented his fiance by also wearing a custom Thom Browne look which featured the brands signature stripes.
