Claudia Schiffer Wore Chanel Accepting Her 2020 GQ Men of the Year Award
The 2020 GQ Men of the Year Awards is the latest event to meet today’s new normality with a completely new, unprecedented approach to honoring personalities without a physical event.
While this particular event does celebrates the ‘Men of the Year,’ they do also pay homage to women.
GQ Germany honoured supermodel Claudia Schiffer with the Woman of the Year award.
In her acceptance speech – which was shared by video – she said, “Over the past 50 years, I have often been asked whether there is such a thing as the secret of my success. And quite honestly: Yes. But it’s quite simple: I have the great luck to sincerely love what I do. And I have worked hard all my life, been professional and have always trusted my instincts. In the 80s I fell in love with fashion, and in the 90s I learned what fashion really is. Myself and the other supermodels, we lived and breathed fashion. The industry was extremely fast moving and demanding, and I am really proud that we were still able to keep control of our careers at all times.”
In her video she wore a Chanel Resort 2020 navy blue leather jumpsuit, which proves to me that it really is leather jumpsuit season.
Unlike the jumpsuit we saw on Gabrielle Union, Claudia’s leather look is a mix between military thanks to the asymmetrical buttons, and biker due to the quilting on the trousers.
While the style of her Chanel red and black shoes wouldn’t have been my personal choice, I do love the the bold pop of colour here.
Both her signature waves and her no makeup makeup completed her look.
