Jessie Reyez Wore Selam Fessahaye To The 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards

Jessie Reyez Wore Selam Fessahaye To The Premios Billboard de la Musica Latina 2020

Before taking to the stage for the very first time to perform her heartbreak song ‘Lo Intenté Todo’ with Reik, Canadian singer Jessie Reyez hit the red carpet at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida on Wednesday (October 21) for the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards (Premios Billboard de la Musica Latina 2020).

I have always said that music awards are the place to really assert yourself fashion-wise.

It’s the one red carpet where the demand for creativity is higher, but often we are met with mini dress, after sequin dress, so this is why Jessie Reyez stood out for me at this event.

Having viewed all three of Selam Fessahaye’s collection, it’s clear that the Eritrean-Swedish has a ‘go big, or go home’ attitude, which sits perfectly on the red carpet at this event.

I feel like many have tried to make this style work before, but the use of dual coloured tapestries, high attention to detail and Jessie’s relaxed styling really sold this look to me.

It’s very hard to make this type of fabric feel modern, but I believe that Selam Fessahaye nailed it.

Gold Sarah Flint ‘Perfect Sandals’ heels and Messika Paris jewels completed her look.

Selam Fessahaye was one of the many black designers who featured in Beyonce’s visual album Black is King.
