Celebrities Rock Matthew Williams Debut Givenchy Spring 2021 Collection

It’s not uncommon for us to see celebrities wearing a look fresh off-the-runway, but it would appear that Matthew Williams is super keen to get his first Spring 2021 collection on the backs of celebrities as soon as possible.
Everyone from Kim Kardashian, the Jenners, Julianne Moore, Laura Dern, Kate Moss, Kaia Gerber and many more can be seen on the Givenchy Instagram page, plus more are being added all the time.
I’m guessing by the end of the week each of the 54 looks would’ve been worn by a celebrity, model or influencer.
Vogue’s headline for this collection was, Matthew Williams Reveals His Vision for Givenchy: “Very Elegant and Powerful and Chic,” and here we have Kim Kardashian wearing a thong accented dress which kinda flies in the face of that statement.
I’m not surprised that this would be the look she would pick, but we’ve kinda been there and done that…twice with this design.
Most recently with Hailey Bieber in Alexander Wang at the 2019 Met Gala, and way back in 2001 Gillian Anderson wore Eduardo Lucero to the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

Where a Kardashian leads, the younger Jenner sisters follow.
Kendall’s image looks like she just shot the campaign for the brand, whereas Kylie strangely feels more suited to the brand on account of her look featuring plenty of sheerness and OTT embellishments.
Travis Scott rocking the chains and alligator trousers is the most nature fit here.

Proving that the collection is not so one dimensional and Kardashian-Jenner-esqe, Julianne Moore (long time supporter of the brand) and Laura Dern showcase the designers tailoring.
I love how Julianne’s all red look is styled with the signature chunky gold link chain we saw on Kendall Jenner and Travis Scott.
The red socks didn’t work for me on Laura. And I usually love sharp contrasts.

And finishing with the models.
Kate Moss was just added to Givenchy’s Instagram.
What I love most about her look is that she’s selling everything to me. Despite the reality of this look being just a coat and a bag. You could literally write a whole movie based on the her emotive expression.

If this image of Kaia Gerber and the rest of the celebrities is anything to go by, Matthew Williams really wants us to buy into these oversized bags.
The young model wore one of the signature pieces from this collection which was a sliced leather dress.
Do any of these looks catch your eye now that you’ve seen them in “real life?”
