K11 Musea (an ornately designed shopping center with artwork, high-end stores, eateries, a cinema & live events) celebrated its first anniversary with a series of Art And Culture events in Hong Kong last night (October 8).
Top of their guest list was Carina Lau.
The Hong Kong actress can always be relied upon to bring plenty of flare to any event.
If you were expecting something frou frou, or a prairie style dress, you must have her confused with someone else, because high-end looks with an edge is Carina Lau’s red carpet M.O.
Carina wore a look from Marine Serre’s Fall 2020 collection which she made her own, as she styled the dress with a beige top hallmarked with a distorted iteration of the label’s signature crescent moon motif.
The dress is not easy to pull off as there is a hell of a lot going on considering the thoughtful juxtaposition and layering which always plays a key roles in Marine Serre’s upcycled collections.
While I do love that the runway look is sustainable, there is somewhat of a thrown together feel to this look that I didn’t immediately warm to, but somehow, with her styling, Carina did the impossible by selling this look to me, and it had a lot to do with the lighter top.
