Katy Perry Wore Stella McCartney To The British Asian Trust Reception

Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Royal Founding Patron of the British Asian Trust, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, met Katy Perry and Indian businesswoman Natasha Poonawalla as they arrive to attend a reception for supporters of the British Asian Trust on Tuesday (February 4) in London.

The American singer has been named as an ambassador of the British Asian Trust, supporting the charity’s work to combat child trafficking.

My first thought when I saw this picture was how breath-taking Natasha looked in her Sabyasachi traditional look by the Indian Couturier Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who has made some of our favourite red carpet and bridal looks for Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra.

Natasha totally steals focus, and this has much to do with the elegance of her outfit, and how uncomfortable Katy appears in her Stella McCartney dress.

I’m not implying that Katy should’ve worn a traditional Indian dress, as she would’ve likely have been accused of cultural appropriation, but that mesh overlay in this company feels very tacky to me.
