February 2, 2020 Runway To Red Carpet

Emilia Clarke In Schiaparelli Haute Couture – 2020 BAFTAs

Emilia Clarke In Schiaparelli Haute Couture - 2020 BAFTAs

I was delighted to see Emilia Clarke back on the awards red carpet for the first time this year at the 2020 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 2) in London.

If you recall, the last time we saw the British actress, she floored us with a striking Schiaparelli design that topped her best-ever looks list.

So you will have no arguments from me that she followed suit again here in a Schiaparelli Spring 2020 Haute Couture design — pared back from its imaginative runway variation.

This wasn’t quite as revolutionary as her prior look, but the glamour was still on full tilt with the mesmerizing crystallized embellishment here.

I love the effect of her sapphire earrings — and that she didn’t over-accessorize the already-bejeweled ensemble.

The neckline is too low, and makes it look like a casual jersey dress. Otherwise, as usual, she looks radiant.

Gorgeous, but I think she needed her hair down for this.

I do not like this. It makes her look a bit sickly and gives her no chest support.

This is nice but still nothing to write home about. Whatever happened to her Dior contract? Dior is more her style.

I love the dress but the top needs a good hoik

Love this…but the straps need to be shorter.

Great earrings and it’s all I have.

Overall it’s a good look for her, although I agree with others here in that the scoop neckline is a bit low, creating the illusion that her bust is not where it should be. I prefer this to the runway look. However I feel the placement of the beading on the gown looks a bit odd, esp around the torso area. Thumbs up for the jewelry, makeup and hair.

I too would like ribcage sparkles.

Love the earrings. Hate the super low neckline and eye make up

She looks great except for the neckline – it makes her look like she’s hunching.

    LOVE!

Its nice enough. But I agree about the too low neckline. it looks unfinished at the neck.
the earrings are pretty. Its good enough but im not blown away or anything.

The runway version wouldn’t have come across very well on the red carpet, I’m sure of it, but on the other hand, the top part of her version looks so plain and bare, and the embellishments random. I’m not excited, although I do like the sapphire earrings here.

I wish the bodice felt less like a basic sundress but I like the beading and the coordinating earrings.

The top hangs too low. Like a stretched jersey.

Chic and well put together for me

The top of the dress is too casual and makes it look like she has no breast.

I really dislike these ultra-deep scoopnecks going around right now. Bring the neckline up a few inches and this would have been a win for me!
