PORTER’s Incredible Women Gala 2018

PORTER's Incredible Women Gala 2018

There were a host of stars who joined Gabrielle Union and Alice Eve to celebrate PORTER’s 3rd annual Incredible Women Gala on Tuesday (October 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Charlize Theron: I really wanted to get excited about this Giambattista Valli Fall 2018 dress, but the top half is throwing me off.  I do love the girlie essence the tiered skirt brings to the look, but that’s about it.

Alison Brie: I know the Brock Collection isn’t loved by all, but I adore the label’s feminine approach and the raw-edges of their asymmetrical ruffles. My only comment on this particular look, is that the bodice seems a tad tight.

Tiffany Haddish: The Emmy-winning actress caught my eye in this Georges Chakra metallic embossed paisley suit. I don’t always get her style choices, but this is easily my favourite look from her this year. Perhaps tailoring is the way to go. Brian Atwood gold ‘Valerie’ pumps, Anabela Chan sustainable lab-grown diamond ring and Gismondi 1754 earrings completed her look.

Halsey In Redemption Couture – 2018 American Music Awards

Halsey In Redemption Couture - 2018 American Music Awards

When it comes to Halsey, I know a lot of you are just not feeling her style, but she went for a softer approach for the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Usually her red carpet M.O. is loud and brash, but this Redemption Fall 2018 Couture gown was exuding a sensual femininity that I don’t think we’ve ever seen from her before.

Matching her pink mullet layered dress to her hair was wild as she was prepared to go on this occasion.

René Caovilla Cleo Strass sandals, a Djula custom diamond choker and Dionea Orcini rings completed her look.

Are you generously going to give this look a pass, or is it still a no from you?

2018 ESPYS

There were many more red carpet looks to be had at the 2018 ESPYS on Wednesday (July 18) in Los Angeles, California, joining the likes of Alison Brie, Ciara and Eiza Gonzalez.

Sloane Stephens: If you thought designers had run out of ways to reinvent the blazer, look no further than Solane’s flame-red Alexander McQueen piece, which looks like it has a built in waistcoat. While the shoes were a bit of a mismatch for me, I do love the overall ease at how the tennis ace presented this uber cool look.

Ibtihaj Muhammad: The Olympic fencer looked breath-taking in a floral Jovani gown. The train, flowers, and that smile make this such a charming look.

Halsey In Redemption – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

I know many of you aren’t fans of high-low (aka mullet) gowns, but one place where they do work is an event like the Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Halsey brought plenty of drama to the red carpet with her look which hails from Redemption’s Fall 2018 collection.

I may be alone, but I would’ve preferred the printed version.

Her dress almost feels, dare I say, safe, by her standards. But her look does allow her to focus on accessories which included Roger Vivier sandals and jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.

Heidi Klum In Redemption Couture – Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards

Each time Heidi Klum graces the red carpet, I have really high hopes that her outfit will measure up to her and to the occasion.

And, at the Nickelodeon 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards yesterday (March 24) in Inglewood, California, I’m happy to say that it did.

It was apropos that she wore this Redemption Fall 2017 Couture embellished frock, as it was a redeeming moment for her style.

Sure, it was a short mini dress, with familiar sexy connotations from the supermodel.

But, with the spirited, tulle rosette skirt, there was also a lightheartedness to the look—a flirtation that meant it didn’t take itself too seriously and the try-hard was at a minimum.

Did you like this Heidi entrance?

Lorraine Schwartz ‘Eye Bangles’ Collection Launch

‘The Eye Bangles’ Lorraine Schwartz launch, in addition to her signature Against Evil Eye Collection, was celebrated on Tuesday (March 13) in Hollywood. Naturally her biggest fans Rita Ora, Blake Lively and Sofia Vegara were in attendance.

Rita Ora: In recent times when we see La Perla looks on the red carpet, they tend to be suits (think Joanne Froggatt, Fan Bingbing and Gwyneth Paltrow), but Rita Ora opted embrace the luxury brand for what it’s historically know for – lingerie. Even with the robe covering most of the look, there is no escaping the fact that she is wearing a nightgown underneath. Thankfully her Lorraine Schwartz jewels provide some distraction.

Blake Lively: Probably the designer biggest fan, the actress opted to keep things simple with a Brandon Maxwell Spring 2018 LBD, allowing the jewels to be the focus. I love how her medley of Lorraine Schwartz bracelets complement her Christian Louboutin ‘ Galeria’ sandals.

Kim Kardashian: Without the oversized blazers and the pink hair, I have to say this was a surprisingly simple and refreshing look for Kim.

Models @ The Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Models stormed the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (March 4) in Beverly Hills, California, with a range of head-turning looks—for better or worse.

Alessandra Ambrosio: The naked dress had another showing with this Ralph & Russo Couture embellished, sheer design, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. There will be no doubt her body isn’t rocking, but I know eyes will be rolling at the complete transparency of the look.

Ashley Graham: This Rubin Singer gown featured a recognizable, slit-to-there silhouette, but it was the gleaming sheen that upped the ante. A swept-back hairstyle and Sophia Webster sandals completed the look.

Lily Aldridge: The golden-goddess look served Lily well in this Versace liquid-gold gown that had a certain chainmail effect. Christian Louboutin heels and Bvlgari jewels and bag finished her glamorously regal entrance.

The BRIT Awards 2018 Red Carpet Roundup

Long, short, and everything in between, the eclectic looks marched on with so many more stars in attendance at The Brit Awards 2018 on Wednesday (February 21) in London.

Jennifer Hudson: I loved the sizzling hue of this red-hot Ralph Lauren gown, but not the fit. The patent-plasticized look would have been all shine had the silhouette been sleeker without the awkward folds.

Adwoa Aboah: Rita Ora wasn’t the only one in feathers, as Adwoa also took a flight of fancy with this Sonia Rykiel white dress. The model’s directional looks can sometimes be a tough sell, so I like the pristine romance she presented here with Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals and a Time’s Up rose to complete the picture.

Maya Jama: Given this House of Holland mini was a custom piece, I expected an impeccable fit and the pink metallic number delivered. She complemented its flirty, girlish side with Sophia Webster embellished sandals. But, I would have left the diamond choker at home.

Olivia Culpo In Redemption Couture – 2018 amfAR Gala New York

Olivia Culpo joined Taraji P. Henson, Heidi Klum, Sienna Miller and Poppy Delevingne on the red carpet for the 2018 amfAR Gala New York on Wednesday (February 7).

You can always rely on Olivia to present a highly glamorous look, and that was most definitely the case with this Redemption Fall 2017 Couture gown.

Some might be getting a strong retro, 80s vibe from this look, and I would agree; but that shouldn’t be confused with being dated.

I felt that this was a sensual and sophisticated choice for the evening.

David Yurman’s ‘Supernova’ ring and Gianvito Rossi ‘Portofino-S’ sandals completed her look.

Elsa Hosk In Redemption – The Wendy Williams Show

Elsa Hosk couldn’t be missed while out in New York City earlier today (November 28) en route to The Wendy Williams Show.

Fresh off the plane from Shanghai, the Victoria’s Secret model was still perhaps in a lingerie-loving mode when she selected this Redemption Spring 2018 periwinkle spaghetti strap dress with sensual lace insert.

The dress is really pretty, and the cardigan was a necessity considering the weather, and I have to admit I love the red Fendi boots.

I adore the contrast against the dress, and red lips helps sell the boots also.

You may remember that Mila Kunis wore these same Fendi boots promoting ‘A Bad Moms Christmas,’ and Marion Cotillard during Cannes.

Carmen Ejogo In Redemption – ‘Roman J. Israel, Esq.’ New York Screening

Carmen Ejogo showcased her rare sultry side for the screening of ‘Roman J. Israel, Esq.’ on Monday (November 20) in New York City.

While some might prefer the runway verison of this Redemption Fall 2017, I love how the drape detail lends some definition, and keeps the look sensual.

Sans drape, the look feels like many Balmain-esqe pieces we’ve seen before.

Pierre Hardy ‘Blondie’ sandals rounded out her look.

2017 amfAR & The Naked Heart Foundation Fabulous Fund Fair

Natalia Vodianova’s annual Fabulous Fund Fair for The Naked Heart Foundation traveled to New York City for the first time in partnership with amfAR on Saturday (October 28). Guests did not shirk their costume duties, either, for the Halloween-themed bash that saw a range of extravagant outfits.

Natalia Vodianova: There was no danger of missing the Naked Heart founder in the crowd, as she was the life-size incarnation of a Jeff Koons sculpture in her Andrey Bartenev balloon-esque design, further amped up by green Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2018 boots.

Naomi Campbell: There was almost more dress in the supermodel’s headdress than in her actual metallic-laced mini from The Blonds Fall 2017 collection.

Izabel Goulart: The model may have been channeling a Frida Kahlo-like spirit, but her Christian Dior Spring 2018 sheer embellished confection was very much within her go-to sexy style. Chopard jewels completed the look that was on the Red Carpet Wish List for Diane Kruger.
