Renée Zellweger Wore Atelier Caito For Herve Pierre To The 2020 National Board of Review Gala

Renée Zellweger joined Salma HayekBilly Porter and Lupita Nyong’o on the red carpet for the 2020 National Board of Review Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 8) in New York City.

The ‘Judy’ star served up what is fast becoming a classic Renée Zellweger look; wearing a shoulder-baring dress from Atelier Caito For Herve Pierre.

Nicolas Caito honed his craft under Francois Bouchet at Lanvin, and worked alongside Martin Margiela at Hermès before launching his namesake label. Hervé Pierre was the former creative director at Balmain Haute Couture and held the same position at Carolina Herrera for 15 years.

No doubt Renée has known Hervé Pierre from his time at Carolina Herrera, so it is very admirable that she is supporting the designers new label which launched in 2017.

Tailored to perfection, this fitted dress flaunts a polished near ankle-grazing length and elegant asymmetrical cut that enhances the modern sophistication of this piece.

I much prefer Renee’s all black version over the dual colour dress we can see in the look book.

Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps and David Webb jewels completed her look once again.

Doesn’t as good as the look book. Since I cannot clearly see, I’d love it if it’s black & blue.

I have a feeling I am going through a black phase: buying tons of black dresses for myself and responding to this a lot more than her GG for instance. The minimalist statement ring and the neckline just bring enough to this look. Not redefining the wheel, but she looks good.

    Simple and elegant and forgettable.

I am obsessed with her minimalist style! Can’t remember someone looking so flawless in such simple designs!

    She surprises me 🙂

Renee is toned within an inch of her life like she was in 2006. I really hope things have changed for her now (in the early 2000s she would often be spotted in cafes with her laptop for HOURS, drinking endless cups of coffee…). The reason I am bothered is that it just is so flat on her, literally. While clothes have always been visually very flat on Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts, at least I don’t see the bones of their shoulders.

One thing we can all agree on it this is a perfect dress.

It’s elegant but I’m not that excited by it.

Classic, emphasis in a good way on classic, Renee. Great look.

Herve Pierre? The same Herve AKA “Melania’s stylist”?

    • Guest January 9, 2020 at 7:19 pm #

      Yes, and?

    • Guest January 10, 2020 at 9:05 pm #

RZ is a role model for many women…. This kind association is not good. She is from TX and TX is the state when Melania used the I dont care jacket…

Oh this is, in fact, so elegant and sophisticated, even the colour black contributes to the sophistication of the look, and the simple elegant pumps work beautifully (I wouldn’t even change them for sandals as they contribute to the overall sophistication of the look as well). It does look like the same formula as her latest Jason Vu black top+pants combo, but at this point I don’t mind it yet, as it’s done and works for her beautifully.

Some may say “same old,” but Renee knows the formula that works for her. The refined elegance of this outing may not be the most creative red carpet moment, but she looks good. Having said that, I wish she were more adventurous with footwear.

And I agree that the customizations here made the outfit much chicer. The lookbook version kinda looks like a mother of the bride cocktail dress.
