Charlize Theron In Christian Dior Haute Couture – 2020 Golden Globe Awards

Charlize Theron In Christian Dior Haute Couture - 2020 Golden Globe Awards

There would be no missing Charlize Theron at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 5) in Beverly Hills, CA.

That’s partly because of the dramatic punch of the intense green shade of her gown — and I was so here for it.

This Christian Dior Haute Couture gown stood out on the red carpet tonight for its edgy seduction mixed with a flash of feminine romance.

I really was captivated by the nearly neon colour balanced by its dark side with the black corset bodice and chiffon shoulder train.

A diamond choker and Maria Tash earrings completed the enthralling look.

Nice change of pace. The sash/train in green would have been better.

Buff… en el limite. Agradezco el riesgo pero ese tono de verde es realmente dificil.

I feel like this look is going to be very polarizing; but I think it is one of her most interesting and fashion forward looks in a long time. I am very excited to see her this awards season.

I have to give Charlize brownie points from stepping aside her favored ALL BLACK looks, I just wish that the bralet and cape is all green, cause that jade green color is so luscious and so unexpected on the Oscar winner. On the fence on this one, but I’m gonna give it a pass this time!!

I like that she did something a bit different, but that shade of greeeän does look rather jarring againt the black

Why? This is awful. Even the choker looks out of place.

I’ve never been a big fan of asymmetric gowns, and this one is no exception, esp since it seems to have 2 minds of its own. I don’t like the shade of green on her, but I do really like the contrasting shoulder train in black, as it makes her statuesque frame even more regal.

    Cheap and ugly!

  9. Guest January 6, 2020 at 8:10 am #

Yes – it’s different. But that doesn’t mean it’s good.
Where is Charlize that we all know and love?

Love this sari-inspired gown. The colours are difficult to carry off but not only does she do it well but looks regal and and golden-globes event-worthy.

It’s different, but also rather unpleasant to look at.

Where else than at awards show can you do bright colors?! I applaud her for that. I think it’s different, the shoulder sash makes it regal and the choker with the touch of blue and diamonds it’s a fun addition. If I had to knit pick, the bodice could’ve been a tad tighter but that’s not taking too much away from the beauty of the look. The boning was reminiscent of the dark green Zendaya wore recently.

Love the dress as it is presented but I hate that parrot green.

I love that she went different and I love it!!
She’s working with her new style and maybe has found her rhythm again.

This is quite un-Dior (except for the bodice), but I love an avant garde Charlize. Fun and different!

  16. MissCoco January 6, 2020 at 2:48 am #

I’m confused by the desing of the bodice. It is supossed to be fitted or loose? Anyway, the colour is great for her.

    • Guest January 6, 2020 at 3:15 am #

I too am confused by the bodice.

  17. Guest January 6, 2020 at 2:48 am #

Wow, she herself is beautiful and statuesque, the gown could’ve been better though.

  18. Originalmeme January 6, 2020 at 2:45 am #

Cheez Louise Charlize. This is awful.

  19. Guest January 6, 2020 at 2:45 am #

I really want to like this but I can’t
    This is just so bad
The neon bright green doesnt go .

  20. StJosephCross January 6, 2020 at 2:44 am #

Queen! She’s like a red carpet super hero

  21. Vizual Ninja January 6, 2020 at 2:43 am #

Her style is all over the place these days. I like this more than I don’t but I wish the corset was solid instead of having the lace detailing, it’s distracting. I do like her styling here as well, esp the hair.

  22. Guest January 6, 2020 at 2:38 am #

I wish the dress was all in the green or the shoulder train in green too but the exposed bustier the only part in black. The necklace is cool and I’m not usually a necklace fan.

  23. Phee phee January 6, 2020 at 2:38 am #

I appreciate that she went for something completely different for her (at least when considering the past year or two). It looks like she tried here.
That green and black together almost looks garish. Im having a hard time with it.
I do love the drama of it though. the train is great.

    • Phee phee January 6, 2020 at 2:51 am #

Maybe all green would of been best

  24. P&P January 6, 2020 at 2:37 am #

Charlize went dressed as a green-screen for Chroma keying that’s falling apart.

  25. KseniaBradner January 6, 2020 at 2:36 am #

I like this because it isn’t boring or frumpy like a lot of Dior has been for Charlze and other actresses. This has personality. It’s not her best, but it’s nice all the same. The color is surprising and very welcome.
