Tilda Swinton’s Fresh Interpretation Of The Classic Shirt Dress For The ‘Orlando’ New York Screening

Tilda Swinton In Alexander McQueen - 'Orlando' New York Screening

Tilda Swinton is back on the red carpet promoting ‘Orlando’ in New York City, leaving her co-stars Selena Gomez and Chloe Sevigny to promote ‘The Dead Don’t Die,’ on Monday (June 10).

There is one designer I always place on my red carpet wish list for Tlda Swinton, and that’s Alexander McQueen.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I had to go back as far as November 2005, to find the last time Tilda wore the British brand, so I’m excited to see her don this Fall 2019 look.

Why am I excited about at white shirt dress?

Well, if you look closer, you’ll see that it is anything but a simple white dress.

From the military-inspired bodice, slit shoulders and layered sleeves this feels very much like a fresh interpretation of a classic.

I would’ve been massively disappointed had Tilda not styled her look with the studded belt with multi-chain harness we saw on the runway.

The regimented feel sits firmly in Tilda’s wheelhouse.

I also got a kick out of her Alexander McQueen ‘Punk Stud’ pumps.

Let’s hope this is a start of a beautiful working relationship between Swinton and McQueen.
