Rachel Weisz In Givenchy Haute Couture – 2019 Oscars

Rachel Weisz In Givenchy Haute Couture - 2019 Oscars

Joining the vibrant ladies in red the likes of Jennifer Hudson and Marina de Tavira among others, Rachel Weisz dazzled at the 2019 Oscars on Sunday (February 24) in Hollywood, California.

Continuing her departure from the colour black, ‘The Favourite’ actress and nominee surprised us in this Givenchy Spring 2019 Haute Couture gown.

There was such an intriguing mood here with novelty of the latex top paired with the sweeter, feminine tones of the embellished, pleated tulle skirt; it was like a hybrid between a superhero costume and a sophisticated gown.

I could have done without the headband, but perhaps it was to add a darling, angelic finish to the fiery look.

The dress is fresh, but uhh the headband.

  2. Elle February 25, 2019 at 10:49 pm #

    Obsessed!!

  3. Hailey February 25, 2019 at 10:39 pm #

My best dressed of the night! I am obsessed with this gown. My only wish is that she had ditched the headband, but otherwise perfection.

  4. Fanny February 25, 2019 at 9:25 pm #

I like everything but the headband.

  5. Sanya February 25, 2019 at 7:51 pm #

This was the biggest disappointment last night. I find this dress ugly and unflattering on her. The color is beautiful though.

I agree it is unflattering and strange to me

PERFECTION, the headband was just the icing on the cake, really. Very different from all the looks of the night, so she definitely stood out. FAVE!

The dress is a fun risk but the headband is a lot. I think her and Emma Stone both knew they didn’t have to dress like winners and wore whatever they wanted.

When she appeared on screen I went “Oh, red!”. Really shocked she went for it but I love the latex balanced with the headband. It’s a great look on her.

I loved this, a bit unusual for the Oscars, but still working well for the event! Her best look this awards season (and I was one of the few who was a fan of most of her other looks so far)!

    Butcher chic. Or serial killer

The skirt is pretty and feminine, but hate the latex top – too jarring. Don’t mind the headband.

The hair piece makes her look like a school girl.

    dress is fine.

The headband addition is head scratcher but I’m still stanning this look. It’s a modern, cool and strong take on girlish sensibilities.

    LOVE.

    Best dressed.

I like the dress but not the styling.

  16. Adrian February 25, 2019 at 2:30 am #

What do they call it… oh, a MISS!

  17. weiss February 25, 2019 at 2:18 am #

I like it. Could do without the headband tho.

Rachel has worn some very mediocre dresses recently, so this is a very welcome change. The color is beautiful on her, and the design is risky / different while still really flattering. Great look for her.

Rosemund was never going to wear this because she already wore red Givenchy to the Oscars for Gone Girl a few years ago.

It’s interesting, but there were better things for Rachel in any Givenchy Couture collection.

I really like this and the risk definitely paid off. Totally agree that the headband needs to go.

ugh. I think she has a plastic red bib on. Its terrible all over.

  22. Jessicamara February 25, 2019 at 1:40 am #

I love that she went different but agree with FC that I would have liked it better without the headband.

I am not sure this is the most suitable Oscars red carpet dress, but I love it. She should have left the headband off though.

  24. Kimma February 25, 2019 at 1:33 am #

I applaud the risk. I wish she’d taken it a bit further with hair and makeup.

  25. Vizual Ninja February 25, 2019 at 1:31 am #

I adore this, it’s the most interesting thing she’s worn in recent times. A risk that paid off, if I were to nitpick, I could’ve done without the headband, but she’s on my list.

Best dressed of the night. The was the best shade of red on the carpet.

I love the hair and the head band. So stunning.

  27. Caroline February 25, 2019 at 1:29 am #

The dress is awful and the headband silly.

No one should wear latex ever. Awful.
