Chanel & Charles Finch Pre-Bafta Dinner

Lovely ladies celebrated awards season at the Chanel and Charles Finch Pre-Bafta Dinner at Mark’s Club on Saturday (February 17) in London, England, where they were outfitted in charming Chanel pieces for the occasion.

Tessa Thompson: The BAFTA Rising Star Award nominee looked sweet in a Chanel Spring 2018 ensemble with its white and yellow tweed evoking a cheerful summer sentiment. The jovial mood was kept up with her twisted topknot, white shoes and red lip.

Poppy Delevingne: The model also embraced the designer’s signature fabric with a seafoam and pale blue Spring 2018 ensemble. The silhouette and chevron seams are quiet details so it was wise of her to not overdo the accessories. Like Tessa, her high updo added youthful fun to the tailored pieces.

Greta Gerwig: The ‘Lady Bird’ director, who is nominated for best Original Screenplay at the BAFTAs, swept me away with her Chanel Spring 2018 dress. It’s playful with the tinsel-like fringing creating captivating dimension. My only gripe is the black shoes feel a bit heavy against the rest of the ensemble.

Haley Bennett: ‘The Girl on the Train’ actress looked ladylike in a black and navy tweed dress. She often goes for romantic looks on the red carpet so this was a slightly different direction for her. It suits her very well, especially with her short hairstyle.

Ella Purnell: The Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ actress left the tweed behind in favour of a silvery white dress. It’s too bad about the creases on the skirt as they mar the futuristic, textural effect of the decorated bodice. Black pumps grounded the look, but I wish she had played into the ethereal nature of the frock with a metallic sandal.

Letitia Wright: There will no doubt be comparisons between her Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 ensemble and Haley’s. The ‘Black Panther’ actress had a Jackie O air about her in her prim jacket and skirt. The shorter length added a youthful flavour as did the striking red clutch.
