Diane Kruger In Atelier Prabal Gurung – ‘In The Fade’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

The three people I was looking out for this Toronto Film Festival were Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone and Diane Kruger.

Sadly, only one has managed to live up to expectation, and that was Jessica.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get on board with Diane’s Atelier Prabal Gurung look worn to the ‘In the Fade’ premiere on Tuesday (September 12).

Between the construction, the titanium lame fabrication and the conflicting gold accessories – which included Jimmy Choo sandals and a L’Afshar clutch – it just felt strangely disjointed to me.

It short, I don’t get it.

Crap, I love her soooo freaking much…I really need her to inspire me with her wonderful fashion sense again…..on a regular basis. I miss it so much.
This is….hate to say it, but its sloppy. And not her usual past amazing-ness that we saw time and time again.

no to her hair and entire outfit, gose straight to my WDOTY list

    Terrible. WDOTY contender?

I usually love her style but I don’t like this. The length of the dress is totally wrong, especially with those shoes, the porthole is unflattering, she looks pregnant. The earring is interesting.
She can do soooo much better.

I really dislike her hair, and the way those shoes fit her make me cringe!

Oh no…what is this? It is terrible!! I’ve tried so hard to see the good in her style for months now, but I think I need to come to terms with the fact that she has really lost it. She is trying so hard to be edgy, cool and youthful but it’s not working for her!

If Diane Kruger were a friend of mine this is, finally, the outfit that would drive me to doing an intervention because something has got to be wrong. This and the Louis Vuitton from last week are awful and so not her. I was never a big fan of her style but even I see that the recent looks are worlds worst than the ones that I did not like back in her glory days.

    Dear Diane,

    What the fork is happening?!

  10. Sanya September 13, 2017 at 18:39 #

I have never believed that I would say this for Diane, but this is a WDOTY contender look.

I think she still has some style mojo (she was pretty great at Cannes), but I really dislike these edgy looks she’s wearing. I miss the glamorous and fashion forward Diane.

    I like this neck up!

  13. dedel September 13, 2017 at 15:44 #

Oh Diane, what happened to you ?

  14. meme September 13, 2017 at 14:37 #

Remember when she used to wear the most beautiful dresses? What happened? This is a complete mess.

    • Caroline September 13, 2017 at 16:18 #

Yes. She used to be my style icon. Now I dislike 9 out of 10 of her choices.

At this point, one has to ask – was JOshua Jackson the sartorial mastermind behind her previous *impeccable* style? 😉

    • meme September 13, 2017 at 14:36 #

I think the answer is YES

    • fromchi-town September 13, 2017 at 14:39 #

I think he took her fashion mojo with him!

I guess I get the idea behind this, but I agree that there is too much going on here. If the dress wasn’t so glittery but simply metallic it could’ve worked to colour-block it with gold accessories. And simpler shoes. The busy construction of the dress really called for a sleeker styling in general.

I’ve mostly been on board with her style choices since Cannes, despite the more…edgy/sexy direction she’s been taking, but this is a NO. The big cut-out is too much, in combination with the fabric, it comes across a bit tacky. And the styling doesn’t exactly help making it work…

  18. Charlotte September 13, 2017 at 12:39 #

    This is a bit dated.

it’s a bummer, the golden accessories in itself are gorgeous.

She does not look as bad as she has in previous outings, but it is a bit overworked for me. The sleave, the cross-over, the slit with the buttons….

    • Catherine Kallon September 13, 2017 at 12:41 #

…oh boy…yeah. Way too much going on
