Thandie Newton In Suno - 'The Slap' New York Premiere Party

It’s always a delight to see Thandie Newton on the red carpet, and last night saw her return for the ‘The Slap’ premiere party held at The New Museum on Monday (February 9) in New York City.

Digging back into her closet, she pulled out all the stops wearing a Suno floral-print dress from the Spring 2013 collection with a midriff cut-out front revealing just the right amount of skin.

I love this floral print. With its stop-and-stare capabilities, the print makes you say ooh, while Thandie’s playful approach has you grinning, like she is, from ear to ear.

Working a natural curly do, I love the additional pop of colour provided by the aquamarine earrings, plus I have to hold my hands up and say the white pumps worked perfectly here.

I wouldn’t change a thing. Would you?

You may remember that Lindsay Lohan wore this same dress on Letterman back in 2013.

I have a hard time liking cropped tops in general but on women in their 40’s even more so but this does look nice. I of course hate the wild hair.

She looks gorgeous! Love her smile!

I hope this TV series will be successful; just to see Thandie at the Emmys. 😀

The hair maybe. Afro is fine obviously but I find it a bit too messy.

Loving the print though. Reminds me of the slightly too open Altuzarra look Rihanna was sporting the other day. Thandie looks fab!

Afros usually have a “halo” 🙂 unless you smooth it over like Lupita usually does. Those ends love to reach for the stars and whatnot Lol.

I like seeing so much diversity with style. If more celebs wear their afros “open” then it will be easier for open afros to be accepted in more formal environments, especially the corporate world. This will also benefit caucasian people with very curly hair who feel they can’t wear it open / curly because of social or corporate pressure.

Her hair isn’t messy, it’s full and very curly. I’m glad she is wearing her hair in her natural state.

The fullness, the curliness, the naturalness and the halo effect are not the problem. I’m just not too keen on the ‘rough edges.’
