2014 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

The MTV EMAs 2014 took place at The Hydro on Sunday (November 9) in Glasgow, Scotland. I was expecting to be at least entertained by the red carpet arrivals; sadly it was a total bust. Perhaps they could can the event for good if this is the best they could muster for the red carpet.

Ariana Grande: Finally letting her hair down – literally, not metaphorically – the singer showed a more grown-up side to her red carpet dressing. Her black Cristiano Burani gown with cut-outs is basically a copy of a Michael Kors Spring 2013 gown which was much loved by Alicia Keys and Myleene Klass.

Alesha Dixon: Even with its decorative detailing, this Mary Katrantzou ‘Oriane’ shirt dress doesn’t feel glam enough for an awards ceremony. Taking the event out of the equation, I simply adore this bold look styled with fierce Sophia Webster ‘Mila’ cage sandals and a violet lip to die for.

Jena Malone: Thankfully, Jena has a world tour with ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ to contend with, because this by her standards is forgettable. It’s a sweet Alaia dress but way too tame for Jena.

Jourdan Dunn: Well, at least someone understood what the EMAs is all about. Slashed to the navel and cut to the upper thigh, this V-neck LWD styled with a silver… let’s call it a bandeau, and complementary jewels is very much in the spirit of what this event was supposed to be about. Sadly, not everyone got the memo.
