Fan Bingbing In Ralph & Russo – X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Melbourne Premiere

Fan Bingbing In Ralph & Russo - X-Men Days of Future Past' Melbourne Premiere

Fan Bingbing attended the Melbourne premiere of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ earlier today (May 16) in Australia.

The Asian beauty selected a Ralph & Russo Spring 2014 Couture white crepe dress with an elegant embroidered cape in a glorious ladylike silhouette.

So why don’t I love the look?

The shoes. God I love her, but those shoes have to be replaced with something more dainty and less clunky.

They are bringing down every look.

Once again I only like this look from the ankles up.

Chopard jewels, a silver Giuseppe Zanotti clutch and a hot-red lip provided the finishing touches.

I’m fed up with all these shoes comments. It’s not like if you don’t like these shoes you appear to have good taste. Maybe you just don’t?!

  2. Markness May 19, 2014 at 03:57 #

Let’s all go to her house and burn those shoes and send her better ones! 😀

  3. Shannie May 18, 2014 at 03:54 #

I love Bingbing, but she needs to up her shoe game because those big chunky platforms must go. They ruined a great dress. Platofrms work with somethings, but not a look like this.

  4. marie May 17, 2014 at 12:42 #

Wow, this look seems quitw controversul…
I love this look, it seems I love everything she wears, she has a great style, her stylist is a genius and to be honest – those shoes aren’t beautiful but I still love the look and maybe if everything else about the look gets a pass there are really worse things that people wear one can argue about.

  5. Henry May 17, 2014 at 07:36 #

Would you guys please stop downgrading her for the shoes she’s wearing. Like seriously, not everyone has a face, body or hair like her. She is the pride of Asians and Chinese people, the epitome of beauty. You guys may say she look tacky with her choices of shoes, but in Asia, people look up to her like a role-model; she only gets compliments. Honestly she looks great in everything she wears, hence she’s making enormous amounts of money in China and her ads are everywhere, from hairbands, water, to bags. She honestly looks great and its cuz Hugh Jackman is tall. If she was with other asian co-stars, she wouldn’t need to refer to those pumps.

    • Catherine Kallon May 17, 2014 at 10:33 #

So, because she is the pride of Asia we are not allowed to comment on her tacky shoes?

I am baffled by your comment.

      • Henry May 17, 2014 at 17:39 #

At events like these, Fan Bing Bing needs to attract as much media attention as possible. She gave up Cannes this year for the X-men premiers in Southeast Asia. She wants to appeal to a passionate fan and if she stands out and the movie does well, it’ll be her big break into Hollywood. Also, this Ralph and Russo piece is truly magnificent and totally stands out from the crowd, so her choice of shoes was ok as well because to me it definitely stood out.

    • Chinese May 18, 2014 at 06:42 #

Role-model?? Please, spare us, Fan Bingbing is as much a role-model to Chinese people as Kim Kardarshian is to American people. Even Kim K. would have been too ashamed to tour the world on a film she has only 2 minutes screen time in. Besides, she has jobs done to her face, have you ever seen her pics before all her PR stunted red carpet introduction? Yeah, the epitome of fake you mean.

      • Henry July 7, 2014 at 06:19 #

Are you joking me??!! Did you just say Fan had things done to her face. Oh no you didn’t. She has won multiple lawsuits against cosmetic clinics and surgeons for claiming she had work done on her face. USE UR COMMON SENSE. She’s the global ambassador for numerous brands. These brands could have just picked any one with PS to endorse their brand, but with Bing Bing it’s different, that’s why she gets huge money. She is natural and always will be. You say this to Chinese people and you will get bashed. You have nooo idea how many people look up to her and how long people wait to just see her appear at a 10-20 minutes event! Learn your facts. God.

  6. Ken May 16, 2014 at 23:40 #

Get a life people, just a pair of shoes. I think they are great!

  7. Cássia May 16, 2014 at 18:06 #

Is she too short for using these shoes??

  8. tuftufwang May 16, 2014 at 16:50 #

FC, maybe you can snoop around and find out who her stylist is and drop him/her a note about the shoes? 🙂

  9. Amanda May 16, 2014 at 16:33 #

I just saw a picture of her at the X-Men NY Premiere after party and she wasn’t wearing any platforms! SHE WAS WEARING METALLIC PUMPS AND LOOKED GREAT!!! Why did you not wear those pumps with this look Fan Bingbing? WHY?

  10. Britta May 16, 2014 at 16:04 #

I love this. The Ralph and a Russo couture outfit is so beautiful! Looks amazing on her! And you guys need to stop talking about her shoes. She ALWAYS wear platforms. No matter how much fashion critics talk about it. She’s very tiny – nothing wrong in compensating with heels ;o)

  11. Kat May 16, 2014 at 13:51 #

Another great look ruined. I thought she wears the hoofs because she thinks she’s not tall enough (a poor excuse but still) but according to internet wisdom she’s 1.68 m, so I really don’t get those shoes. I wish that one day she’d wake up magically transformed to the size of Gwendolyn Christie.

    • effieee May 16, 2014 at 15:26 #

I always thought that was the case as well; that Asian actresses tend to wear stacked platform heels because they were worried that they weren’t tall enough, for sample clothing or perhaps in general.

That being said, they do look awful and let down an otherwise chic look.

      • d May 16, 2014 at 17:04 #

in think the general impression of the asians about themselves are that comparing to the europeans they have shorter legs….

        • Kat May 16, 2014 at 17:24 #

Even if that were anatomically speaking true those shoes won’t help – quite the contrary, they can actually create an optical shortening of the leg (as in this case). Worn under a long dress or as an occasional gimmick, why not? But they can really ruin an elegant or classic outfit.

  12. dee May 16, 2014 at 13:47 #

    Gorgeous ankles up.

  13. charlotte May 16, 2014 at 13:33 #

And FC, sorry to tell you,her silver clutch and those awful shoes we both hate so much(LOL)are from Giuseppe Zanotti and not Louis Vuitton.

  14. d May 16, 2014 at 13:26 #

    sigh…. how to ruin a perfect look….
i hope she will read RCFA one day…

  15. charlotte May 16, 2014 at 12:20 #

Call me a drama queen, but I really shed some tears when I saw such a beautiful couture dress ruined by thos HORRENDOUS chunky platform heels.
WHY bingbing?WHY do you need to do such things to the readers who love you so much.
well,at this point ,one can only assume that she personally favors this type of shoes.which is sad considering the rest of this look is absolutely gorgeous.
As for the chopard diamond watch she’s been wearing through out the entire promo tour, some may find it odd(me included),is more of a brand ambassador obligation.

    • ram May 16, 2014 at 13:10 #

tears??? isnt it a little too much???

      • charlotte May 16, 2014 at 13:22 #

Well,I might exaggerated a little bit,but you need to understand how much harm those awful shoes do to this whole look.
I couldn’t take anything seriously as long as she had those clunky “beasts” on.

        • ram May 16, 2014 at 13:41 #

i understand you..i feel the same…she may as well go barefoot for all we care about those awfull shoes

  16. Yeliz May 16, 2014 at 12:19 #

I just hate that I can’t love a look from her from head-to-toe. The dress is gorgeous and I love the rest of her styling but her shoes just weigh down all of her looks.

  17. Rye May 16, 2014 at 12:18 #

Ankles up she looked great, true epitome of sophisticated.
However, I’m genuinely curious, how big is her part in the movie? Is she one of the lead character? Why is she the only female cast that doing all the promo tour?

    • charlotte May 16, 2014 at 12:35 #

Actually she played “Blink”in this film who only appeared for like 2 minutes, but the authorities of 20th century Fox need her popularity and enormous fan base in Asia to gain more viewers.
This is pure business strategy, the film company get all the publicity they wanted and Fan Bingbing also get a chance to introduce herself to a wider audience.Nothing but a win-win deal.

    • Charlotte May 16, 2014 at 13:22 #

Plus, Jennifer Lawrence is on set for Hunger Games. So, they needed another woman and there’s not a lot in the movie !

    • justme May 16, 2014 at 13:27 #

As big as the cast is, it is predominantly male. Jennifer is needed on The Hunger Games set, Halle is shooting her TV show, Famke just has a cameo in the movie apparently…

Fan Bingbing is the obvious choice, especially since they’re promoting in the Asia-Pacific region.

      • H May 16, 2014 at 13:44 #

She is insanely famous in Asia, even more than Zhang Ziyi who is more of a global superstar rather than big Asian megastar like Bingbing. Anna PAquin is also in the film but her range in Asia isn’t as big and the focus is to sale as much in the Asia-Pacific area as in the United States.

        • Rye May 16, 2014 at 14:01 #

I live in Southeast Asia and I know zhang zi yi, but I actually never heard of her before reading this blog lol, I’m sure she’s more well known in east Asia and Singapore. Well at least she presents the movie well with her RC look.

          • H May 16, 2014 at 15:41 #

Interesting to know, I live in the Dominican Republic and on this Atlantic side she is widely known and some of her movies have been well accepted.

            • Rye May 16, 2014 at 16:07 #

Chinese movies aren’t that famous here, only limited theaters that play some Chinese movies. I’m sure even tho don’t know her name, people in my country would recognize her face, her l’oreal ads are on display everywhere in stores.

              • H May 28, 2014 at 15:04 #

Interesting, she has become quiet the big thing in a lot of places, mostly for her appeareances and looks and other stuff, but she is too stunning not to notice, haha.

        • justme May 16, 2014 at 14:21 #

Anna got cut of the movie, then reintegrated for a cameo. Even if they asked her super nicely, I don’t think she’d be willing to go on a promo tour lol.

        • Re May 16, 2014 at 14:28 #

Fan is more like the Chinese version of Kim Kardaishian actually. She’s mostly famous for her red carpet appearances because she likes to get the most attention wherever she goes.

          • aj May 18, 2014 at 09:18 #

Compared to Kim K, Fan actually has talent as a singer and also won best actress awards in at the Tokyo Film Festival and Taiwan Golden Horse for best supporting actress.

          • JW June 9, 2014 at 00:11 #

Kim Kardaishian is American trash, Fan Bing Bing became known for her work. She has her own studio, runs her own business, etc. She is also well known for her philanthropic work.

            • Re June 10, 2014 at 06:20 #

Hate to burst your bubble but it was her real estate sugar daddy’s money she’s got to start her own PR group to begin with. And Evergrand is still buying movie roles for her. She has no business except herself. Her so-called studio is a whole group of people she hired to comment good about her all over China’s every major web site while tramping her competitors. This is how her game is played, pretending to be the light of China to the world, then claiming world-famous to the domestic. She’s every bit of the trash even Kardashian’s not.

              • Henry July 7, 2014 at 06:25 #

I am absolutely appalled by your statement. First off, her production company actually invests in making movies. Her upcoming Tang Dynasty movie, costed $20 million for production and she paid for all of that. The smart thing about BingBing is that she knows what movie to invest in, hence her PR company has more than $170 million in stocks. Second, she actually auditions for the roles because she’s a veteran in the entertainment industry; she has a lot of experience and huge production companies seek after her because they want her popularity to appeal to the Chinese fans. She’s not like the Kardashians. She actually has her own Heart ALI project which helps kid with cognitive heart disease. KNOW YOUR GOD DAMN FACTS!

  18. Denise May 16, 2014 at 12:09 #

This is really beautiful and fresh. From the ankles up she looks ravishing.

  19. kane May 16, 2014 at 11:52 #

Love the dress, the runway styling is to die for.

  20. Christine May 16, 2014 at 11:48 #

She needs to step her shoe game up.

The dress is lovely but such a shame about her love for them shoes. UGH

  21. Alex May 16, 2014 at 11:38 #

Those shoes are awful. Why wear them with couture? Nooooooo!

  22. Martin May 16, 2014 at 11:38 #

Why, why, WHY does she keep doing this? Those shoes are grotesque, they’re offensive, they’re a total and utter eyesore. And, ultimately, I cannot take any of her looks seriously as long as she is wearing them. Kill them with fire!!!

    • Christine May 16, 2014 at 11:48 #

  23. Fashionista May 16, 2014 at 11:32 #

Ralph & Russo does it again. Amazing look! Elegant and stripped back yet gorgeous.

  24. J May 16, 2014 at 11:27 #

    Her shoes are fine. Geez.

    • Catherine Kallon May 16, 2014 at 15:24 #

You, Bingbing and her stylist are the only ones who think so

    • Belle May 16, 2014 at 15:53 #

I also agreed, those shoes are fine ! I rather wear comfortable clunky shoes than those painful skinny heels.

    • Nat May 16, 2014 at 16:01 #

Geez. This is not like curing cancer ok?

    • amy May 16, 2014 at 20:17 #

no they’re not, they are heavy, clunky and boring. but she did wear worse things so they almost get a pass.

  25. Alina May 16, 2014 at 11:24 #

Such a great dress for her; it really suits her style, but I agree that those shoes NEED to go.

    • aj May 18, 2014 at 09:21 #

blame the designer for creating those monstrous looking shoes.

  26. AB May 16, 2014 at 11:24 #

    She looks adorable
