May 6, 2014 Runway To Red Carpet

Kirsten Dunst In Rodarte – 2014 Met Gala

Kirsten Dunst made a definite statement on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Ever since these Star Wars-themed gowns made their way down the runway at fashion week, everyone has wondered if and when they would show up again, and now we have our answer.

Kirsten rocked the Death Star-printed gown from Rodarte’s Fall 2014 collection.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who find this ridiculous, but I absolutely love that Kirsten went with this dress. It’s mirthful, has a gorgeous silhouette, and if there’s anywhere you can make it work, it’s at the Met Gala!

A dark smokey eye, red lips and deeply side-parted updo complete Kristen’s look.

So, what do you think? Totally fun, or totally wrong?

Loved it! My favorite dress at the Met Gala this year, it stood alone for me and that’s why I chose it as my fave.

Awesome! The gown suits her very well!

This is awesome, easily one of my favourites.

Better for the Schiaparelli event a couple years ago–but Kirsten does look statuesque and it’s a great dress for her, elegant but quirky.

    Oh no no no

I really like it, it’s just the right dress for this event.

Obviously you’re not going to see this one coming & going. I love it. It’s totally Kirsten & she pulls it off beautifully & effortlessly.

Absolutely stunning!! It oozes elegance and fashion-forwardness at the same time. Being a star wars geek myself, I couldn’t love this dress more

    Awesome. Well done, Kiki!

I’m sorry but this is just ridiculous imo. Even if I could get past the Star Wars motif, the lower part of the dress really irks me since it looks like someone just ripped it.

It works for her. It even looks romantic. Love her makeup!

I hated this collection, and I loved Star Wars (the first 2 anyway).

This was one of my favorites from NYFW. I’m very happy that Kiki went with this number. Love it.

You know, thinking about it, this is a great dress to use on last year punk theme…

I agree. This is one of the few places it makes sense to wear such a dress. Also, it’s great for Kirsten: the overall design is striking on her but the death star also adds the quirk I expect from her.

This dress is modern and quite poetic at the same time. Love it.

I loved this, though I know it may be a bit polarizing. The celestial theme is awesome and I think this event is a perfect place to wear a dress like this.
