Florence Welch In Alexander McQueen – Alexander McQueen And Frieze Dinner Celebrating Frieze Art Fair 2013

Florence Welch In Alexander McQueen - Alexander McQueen And Frieze Dinner Celebrating Frieze Art Fair 2013

Florence Welch mingled with Kate Moss at the Alexander McQueen and Frieze Dinner celebrating the Frieze Art Fair 2013 in London, England on Thursday.

The songstress also gave us an Alexander McQueen Fall 2013 look that was nearly a spitting image of the lookbook. She piled on the pearls, throwing on a fur cape featuring a pearl-studded closure, which she wore over an Elizabethan-inspired, high-collared white blouse and black velvet, pearl-accented trousers.

To complete this mannish, embellished look, she put on a pair of pony-skin platform heels and carried a pearl knuckle box clutch, whilst sweeping her flame-red locks back into a ponytail ‘do.

    Oh Gosh Florence, why?
She looks like she dressed up badly on purpose.
She can do so so much better!

    Not liking this unflattering look.

      +1

My daughter, who doesn’t get fashion says she looks like a crow.

It’s WAY too much going on, but I’ve never met fur I didn’t like so I’m loving the cape!

Unfortunately, your daughter is totally correct. She literally looks just like…a crow! Now I can’t see anything else. She looks dressed for Halloween. I get Florence’s aesthetic, and even appreciate it, but there is a fine line between cool and crazy. She just crossed it.

I love Beth Rodriques’ comment–and totally agree if this were the real world. But, like Lady Gaga, Florence Welch wears costumes rather than clothes (at least much of the time) and this is so totally her style that it kind of works for me. She is totally vamping it up in the other photos from the event. This look has a totally 70’s vibe in the Edwardian tradition–I can almost see Mick Jagger in it!

See–I am totally talking like it is the ’70s. :>

should have looked in a mirror and said “one thing less”, at least three times,

      Lol!

🙂 I agree. Too much going on.

      Haha, I agree!

After looking at this look, I’m starting to wonder if she even owns a mirror.

I am stunned, flabbergasted by how unflattering this is. Certainly the lookbook has the model pose in a clever, forgiving pose with great lighting, but still she pulls it off. Florence also shows me why I was glad Michelle didn’t wear the lookbook blouse the other day, although that collar is the least problem of this look.
