Front Row @ Topshop Unique Spring 2014

Topshop Unique

A long line of trendsters turned out for the Topshop Unique Spring 2014 runway, hosted at the Topshop Show Space in London on Sunday, where the FROW head-turners had on their hautest high-low looks.

Kate Moss: The supermodel struck an effortless yet cool-girl note in grey-and-black, leopard-print trousers, paired with a black jacket and heather-grey sweater. Oversized sunglasses, black booties and a blue-ceder Kate Moss for Longchamp clutch popped more attitude into this look.

Ashley Madekwe: Rocking a fire-engine shade of red, the ‘Revenge’ actress continued to make the show rounds in a cozy Topshop Unique beige jacket (which actually photographed more like mint green) and matching Boutique fuzzy jumper thrown over those bold-hued Unique trousers. Minimal makeup and a scraped-back ’do finished off the fiery look.

Ellie Goulding: The British songstress took a tougher approach with a black leather blazer and black crop top, which seemed a bit too intense for her Topshop Boutique baby-blue skirt. Her criss-cross, black-patent Unique shoes brought a heavy edge back.

Daisy Lowe: Looking every ounce of schoolgirl sweet, the model was conservative-cute in a charcoal-grey Unique jumper, pale-pink skirt and black Mary Jane heels. With wide slit panels, the skirt had a leg-flashing effect, which contributed some of the sultry appeal we have recently been more accustomed to seeing from Daisy.

Harley Viera-Newton: The model-DJ embraced a delightful mix of saturated pastel colours with an aqua sweater and a pink-and-blue plaid skirt, worn with barely blush pumps. Lavender ombre shades and cherry-red lippie added some fun quirk factor.

Pixie Geldof:  The socialite wore a Topshop Boutique printed cami and Boutique blue jeans. From the unflattering fit to the wrinkled pants, not to mention the random leopard clutch and clog-like shoes, I couldn’t get on board with just about anything here. I could appreciate the neon coral-orange lipstick.

Samantha Barks: Also working a shade of crimson, the actress matched her shiny red Unique skater skirt with a biker jacket and black jumper, which may have been just a tad too sheer for its own good. Black ankle booties completed the tough-luxe look.

Hayley Atwell: The British actress wore an oversized, black Topshop Boutique cross-over shirt, metallic Boutique shorts, black lace-up booties and a fedora-style hat. Maybe I would have liked this better without the black tights—and those distracting, tousled wrinkles in the shorts.

Suki Waterhouse: The London model carried off her wide-brimmed hat with more polish, wearing the topper with a camel-coloured, cropped-sleeve overcoat, black cropped top and a flirty blue miniskirt, rimmed in black leather. Pointy-toe kitten-heel shoes completed the ladylike-edgy effect.
