Milla Jovovich In Prada - 'Cleopatra' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Milla Jovovich was back on the red carpet this evening attending the ‘Cleopatra’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the 60th Anniversary Theatre this evening in France.

We love Miuccia Prada, but she can’t make a gown. This was evident when Florence Welch attended the premiere for ‘The Great Gatsby’ last week, and here we have another poor attempt at creating a gown worthy of the occasion.

The gown features a loose black silk spaghetti strapped top with a navy embellished skirt, which would look better as a bed throw.

It is just an unflattering heap.

As I say every Cannes Film Festival, No Miuccia, NO.

Dita von Teese In Elie Saab Couture - 'Cleopatra' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

We’ve seen Dita Von Teese attend several events in and around Cannes Film Festival, but this evening she finally took to the red carpet for the ‘Cleopatra’ premiere.

The burlesque star gives us yet another look at the Elie Saab Spring 2013 collection on the red carpet at this festival, selecting a coral red lace three-quarter length sleeve frock with shimmering embroidered details.

More touches of red via her satin Louboutin pumps, a minaudière and signature lips and nails were to be had, with her hair teased to perfection in her favoured retro ‘do.

I’m glad Miss Teese is laying of the black for a while at least.

Rosario Dawson In Marchesa - 'Cleopatra' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Rosario Dawson was able to quickly redeem herself this evening at the ‘Cleopatra’ Cannes Film Festival premiere, following the poor showing on the red carpet last night.

On this occasion she wore a Marchesa Resort 2013 gown.

The sparking golden creation featured puffy sleeves and a fishtail skirt that she styled with a diamond cuff, which wasn’t needed, and a Ferragamo clutch.

Sweeping locks and a hot red lip colour completed her look.

This is much improved for me. What say you?

Jessica Chastain In Versace Collection - 'Cleopatra' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Jessica Chastain returned to Cannes Film Festival, taking to The 60th Anniversary Theatre this evening for the ‘Cleopatra’ premiere in France.

The red-haired beauty looked regal, wearing a Versace Collection gown which was fit for a Queen.

Her long-sleeved off-white silk gown, featuring a cape which trailed behind her into a dramatic train, was styled with a stunning sapphire sautoir and the trombino sapphire ring from the Elizabeth Taylor Bulgari collection.

Jessica is giving us a preview of the upcoming Versace Collection Spring/Summer 2014.

From this look it would appear this collection will focus less on the studs, cut-outs and slashed-to-the-thigh gowns the brand is known for, but we will have to wait and see.

Cannes Film Festival Menswear Round Up

Sunday at the Cannes Film Festival in France included the premiere of ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’, which features Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake and Garrett Hedlund, and the premiere of ‘Blood Ties’, starring Clive Owen and Marion Cotillard.

Garrett Hedlund: Not going with the traditional black tuxedo, Garrett opted for a Saint Laurent midnight-navy tux with black peak lapels. Keeping the color scheme dark, he paired it with a black shirt and a black tie. Garrett looks great, but unfortunately he is standing next to a major menswear mogul in Justin Timberlake.

Justin Timberlake: In the past few months we’ve seen Justin wear tuxedos with perfection. He kept the streak alive, pulling out all of the stops in a beautifully tailored Balenciaga black tuxedo with peak lapels. He kept the look classic as always, with a crisp white shirt, and a black bow tie and cummerbund. To finish it off, he added a Cartier watch, a Lanvin lapel pin, and vintage mother-of-pearl cufflinks.

Oscar Isaac: The star of the film went with a classic black tux, but a few key differences made it stand on its own next to Justin’s similar look. Oscar decided to wear a necktie instead of a bow tie and nixed the cummerbund. Simplicity always works with a tux, so Oscar did well.

Clive Owen: Also sticking with the classics, Clive sported an elegant look in a black tuxedo alongside co-star Marion Cotillard. He finished off the two-button peak-lapel tux with a black bow tie and a white shirt.

It’s a little difficult to choose a favourite out of these four. For me, it was between Garrett and Justin because of the midnight-navy colour and the overall perfection, respectively. I’ll have to give the nod to Justin because of the hair. Grooming counts too.

Best Day 6

For Day 6 of Cannes Film Festival, I selected two looks for my Best of the Day in association with shoecribe.com: Zoe Saldana in Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglisi and Zhang Yuqi in Roberto Cavalli.

The shoes which Zoe inspires are these Alexandre Birman sandals featuring a black strap and snakeskin heel. Like Zoe’s look, there is a bit of mixing and matching going on here, plus the heels are uber sexy, just like her look.

Beige McQ Alexander McQueen pumps were my inspired choice for Zhang Yuqi. The elegant pumps feature gold-studded accents, mimicking Zhang’s styling of her beige Cavalli gown with her gold Sergio Rossi clutch.
