Ruth Negga Wore Loewe To ‘The Man I Love’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Jury member Ruth Negga was back on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the late-night premiere of The Man I Love, following her Prada outing from the night before.

While I love the pale yellow hue of this Loewe gown, my first thought was Victoria Beckham. There is something about the softly draped silhouette and gathered ruching at the hip that instantly recalled the clean, understated elegance often associated with Beckham’s designs.

That said, the colour choice worked beautifully for a midnight Cannes premiere. Dark looks often disappear into the backdrop at these later screenings, so the buttery pastel shade immediately stood out on the red carpet without feeling loud.

My only reservation is the fabric which looked slightly crumpled, as though it didn’t survive the car ride quite as well as intended, which distracted me.
