Tilda Swinton Wore Chanel Haute Couture To ‘La Bola Negra’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Tilda Swinton made her first red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 this evening at the La Bola Negra premiere.

Some might call this anti-glamour, but Tilda has long operated outside the expected red carpet framework, where the event, or location rarely alters her instinctive approach to dressing.
I’m glad the muslin sheer Chanel Spring 2026 Haute Couture looks have had their moment, because this ensemble reminds us just how rich the collection can be on the red carpet.

The burnout velvet finish in shades of blue and white gave the look remarkable texture and dimension, while the embroidered braids and feathers in tones of navy, cobalt, and sky blue created a blurred, almost painterly effect, like brushed pigment across silk velvet.
And while many Cannes looks rely on diamonds to elevate the final result, Tilda wisely skipped jewellery altogether. With a neckline this intricate, anything extra would have only interrupted the impact of the couture workmanship.
