Get The Look: Sonam Kapoor’s Cannes Mix Eras Faux Bob

Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor, was a vintage delight in a billowing Elie Saab Couture gown for the screening of ‘The Homesman’ during Cannes Film Festival.

The L’Oréal Paris ambassador walked the red carpet working a faux bob ‘do with flapper girl waves. Mixing the eras, Sonam opted for a 60s makeup inspiration with bold red lips and heavy lush lashes.

Her ‘Great Gatsby’ hairdo help pulled the vintage look together. So take your hairstyle cues from the star and master her vintage updo in just a few steps.

Step 1: First section the crown into a triangular shape with a defined side part. Next, wrap this section around a small-barrelled curling iron, holding it a forward angle and securing each curl with a pin.

Step 2: Curl the remainder of your hair into loose curls. There’s no need to pin down these curls.

Step 3: Remove the hair clips from the top and brush out the curls into an S-wave pattern.

Step 4: For long hair, gather strands into a low ponytail and twist into a faux bob.

Step 5: For a finishing touch, spritz on some hairspray for extra hold and accessorize with a jewelled hairband just above the eyebrows for the flapper girl look.

There you have it. Sonam’s vintage ‘do right at your fingertips. To complete this look add a pop of red to your lips and a generous coat of mascara for a touch of extra drama.

Matt Smith In Thom Sweeney – ‘Lost River’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Matt Smith In Thom Sweeney - 'Lost River' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

While busy swooning over Ryan Gosling, I neglected to notice that there was an equally dapper gentleman taking to the red carpet for the ‘Lost River’ premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 20) in Cannes, France: Matt Smith.

The British actor looked oh so very handsome in his fit-to-perfection Thom Sweeney blue mohair three-piece suit styled with a white oxford shirt and a blue woven silk tie, with brown shoes rounding out his look.

Would it be blasphemous to say that I think I prefer this look over Ryan’s? You know I have a weakness for three-piece suits.

Cheryl Cole In Stéphane Rolland Couture – De Grisogono Fatale In Cannes Dinner Party

Cheryl Cole In Stéphane Rolland Couture - De Grisogono Fatale In Cannes Dinner Party

Cheryl Cole attended the de Grisogono ‘Fatale In Cannes’ party held during the 67th Cannes Film Festival at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc this evening (May 20) in Cap d’Antibes, France.

Stylewise, the X Factor UK judge is not having a great time this year at the festival.

I’m not sure who put her in this Stéphane Rolland Fall 2012 Couture gown (I’m guessing she has a new stylist), but it’s the most unflattering thing she has ever worn.

Why would anyone consider wearing a gown that flattens their lady lumps in such a peculiar way.

I am not a fan of the de Grisogono choker either – the shoes are, again, uninspired and I’m pretty sure I can see faint tan-lines.

Better luck next year Chezza.
