Rashida Jones In Valentino - Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014

Rashida Jones attended the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 2).

Bringing a folklore touch to the red carpet in a Valentino Spring 2014 dress, Rashida offered a refreshing change of pace compared to the other glitzy dresses on show.

The long-sleeved gown featuring a high round neck, a full skirt and embroidery detailing throughout was a colourful and quirky choice, and one that offered the perfect  amount of drama to for such an event.

Rashida styled with the runway in mind with gold hoop Dior Fine Jewelry ‘Coquine’ yellow gold and diamonds earrings, Ana Khouri’s gold leaf hand bracelet and hair pin, a berry lip and her hair loosely tied back.

Diane Kruger In Valentino Couture - Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014

Diane Kruger attended the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday (March 2) in West Hollywood, California.

The actress channelled dark decadence wearing a Valentino Spring 2014 cape dress featuring 3/4 length sleeves.

Lovingly layered in a texturally intriguing lace, she styled her look with a braided updo, which added a hint of charm to her look, a beaded clutch and matching pumps for a touch of bedazzlement.

For me she was flawless and easily one of the best of the night. Do you agree?

Sally Hawkins took to the red carpet on Sunday, March 2 in Los Angeles for the 2014 Oscars.

The Best Actress in a Supporting Role nominee for ‘Blue Jasmine’, was one of the many stars who opted for a pale, embroidered dress, in this case Valentino Couture Fall 2013.

The workmanship on this dress is just incredible from the cream and gold embroidery to the pearl waist detail. It’s a true work of art. However, the dress overwhelms Sally’s petite figure. It appears to have not been altered to her frame properly when compared to the runway image. The dress is too long in both the sleeves and hem and the waist is sitting too low.

With a high-necked dress this ornate I generally like to see hair swept up but that bothers me far less than the fact that it’s simply too big. On a taller actress this could have been a winner.

A pregnant Olivia Wilde glowed on the red carpet on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The actress, starring in the upcoming ‘Better Living Through Chemistry’ film, stunned in Valentino Pre-Fall 2014.

All through her pregnancy Olivia has nailed her red carpet style (like this high-fashion look) and her black and white design at the Academy Awards was no exception. The mock-turtleneck style hugged her baby bump giving a very sexy silhouette, which was enhanced with an open back detail and punctuated with a modern bow detail at the nape of the neck.

Olivia continue the black and white colour palette with her accessories: a cocktail ring, drop earrings, and arm party bangles from Lorraine Schwartz.

I love this red carpet look. What do you think of this sexy, yet covered-up design?

Best Dressed Of The Week - Naomie Harris In Valentino, Adrien Brody In Dolce & Gabbana and Michael B

This week we loved Naomie Harris who wore a gold Valentino gown to the NAACP Image Awards 2014.

She had a stellar week, but this best of a very chic bunch.

When it came to the fellas, you were drawn to Adrien Brody’s red shiny Dolce & Gabbana suit, while I opted for the more classic Dior Homme look served up by Michael B. Jordan.

Cate Blanchett In Valentino Couture - Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style Awards Ceremony

Cate Blanchett attended the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards Ceremony held yesterday evening (February 28) at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Blue Jasmine’ actress rose to the stylish occasion by opting for a taupe tasselled Valentino Spring 2014 Couture dress.

This was a dress that skewed the glitz and drama of typical award ceremony dresses and instead offered a whole new take with its exquisite craftsmanship.

Just like the runway, Cate kept the styling minimal. While I can imagine this being worn with flats and bohemian jewellery, Cate added polish with a chic up do and strong eye-make-up.  My only change would have been to add some sparkling jewellery such as an ear cuff or cocktail ring.

To me it doesn’t necessarily have serious wow factor but it does have some sort of ethereal quality and Cate’s glowing complexion really gives it a lift.

I always find a delight and sense of excitement in Cate’s sartorial choices and this just proves how different her style is. But what do you think?
