Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is our final menswear roundup this week which sees the majority of the fellas opt out of wearing a tie.

Kelvin Harrison Jr.: Not following the dark suit trend, this was quite a strong Dolce & Gabbana look for Kelvin at the ‘Monsters and Men’ Toronto International Film Festival premiere. I just wish that the shoes weren’t black. They are such an harsh ending to a beautifully textured suit.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson: Speaking of texture, I’m marveling at the sheen coming off Aaron’s Givenchy Fall 2018 suit for the ‘Outlaw King’ Toronto International Film Festival premiere. This was perhaps the most formal look during the festival for menswear so far, but no one can accuse him of overdressing when he looks this sharp.

Chris Pine: Joining Aaron at the ‘Outlaw’ premiere, Chris was looking very debonair in his Canali suit. I know some of you aren’t huge fans of double-breasted blazers, but I love everything about this look especially the contrast of the striped brown blazer against the inky blue. We always want guys to switch things up. It appears someone is listen. Christian Louboutin’ Cousin Greg’ navy shoes completed his look.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

Jaeger-LeCoultre, official partner of the Venice International Film Festival for the 14th consecutive year, hosted a dinner at the Venetian Arsenal on Tuesday (September 4), to celebrate the art of filmmaking, while showcasing a retrospective exhibition of 185 years of Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmaking.

We’ve seen Dakota Fanning and Araya A. Hargate, here is a look at the other attendees.

Bruna Marquezine: The model wore a fiery Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2018 Haute Couture embellished dress styled with René Caovilla’s signature leg-wrap pumps for a scene-stealing entrance, but this isn’t the first time this look has hit the red carpet. You may remember that Monica Bellucci wore this dress back in February.

Fala Chen: This Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 dress was also a re-run. Natalie Portman wore this dress, also in Febrary to the premiere of ‘Annihilation’, but I much prefer Nataliie’s black lining over Fala’s nude.

Alba Rohrwacher In Valentino Haute Couture – ‘My Brilliant Friend’ (L’Amica Geniale) Venice Film Festival Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher In Valentino Haute Couture - 'My Brilliant Friend' (L'Amica Geniale) Venice Film Festival Premiere

Alba Rohrwacher was back to wearing Valentino for the ‘My Brilliant Friend (L’Amica Geniale)’ premiere during the 2018 Venice Film Festival on Sunday (September 2) in Italy.

This Fall 2018 Haute Couture pistachio top and blue cropped trousers beautifully marries femininity and masculinity.

I get the sense that this look isn’t about being ‘sexy’ or ‘avant-garde’, it’s about dressing beautifully and courageously, in an uber chic manner – something that Alba nails consistently, whoever she opts to wear.

Mia Goth In Valentino – ‘Suspiria’ Venice Film Festival Photocall

Mia Goth In Valentino - 'Suspiria' Venice Film Festival Photocall

Mia Goth joined Tilda Swinton, Chloe Grace Moretz and Dakota Johnson for the ‘Suspiria’ photocall during Venice Film Festival today (September 1) in Italy.

The young English actress wore a Valentino Resort 2019 dress which had a strong retro flight attendant vibe to it – possibly inspired from the ’60s or ’70s – but I love the alluring girlishness of it all.

Simple gold sandals to complement the signature gold ‘V’ details and barely there, if any makeup, completed her look.

Lady Gaga In Valentino Haute Couture – ‘A Star Is Born’ Venice Film Festival Premiere

Lady Gaga In Valentino Haute Couture - 'A Star Is Born' Venice Film Festival Premiere

Lady Gaga did NOT disappoint as she graced the red carpet for the Venice Film Festival premiere for ‘A Star Is Born’ this evening in Italy.

We’ve encounter crazy Gaga for so long, but I knew Stefani Germanotta would do this proud moment justice, and how!

I’m pretty much stunned into silence by this Valentino Fall 2018 Haute Couture gown.

The style feels reminiscent of 1920s opulence, thanks to the fluttering feathers which managed to stay buoyant despite the downpour in Venice this evening.

Chopard jewels and an elegant updo completed her look.

I wanted to see this on Fan Bingbing, but this look has a greater impact on an unexpected like Lady Gaga.

Claire Foy In Valentino Haute Couture -‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Claire Foy In Valentino Haute Couture -‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Claire Foy was back on the red carpet for the opening ceremony and the ‘First Man’ screening during the 2018 Venice Film Festival today (August 29) Italy, following the photocall.

I adore the pink and red colour combination, so I was instantly draw to this Valentino Fall 2018 Haute Couture look like a moth to a flame.

But there I had just a little nag about the poncho-style felt overlay, that I’m still struggling to shake.

And that’s the fringing at the hem.

It doesn’t ruin the look, but does take away some of the gloss and render the look a bit more casual that I would’ve liked.

Thoughts?

A Messika ring and Aquazzura sandals completed her look.
