Gucci Resort 2016 Front Row

Gucci Resort 2016 Front Row

Gucci presented their Resort 2016 collection in New York City on Thursday (June 4) where the sidewalk of West 22nd Street became a runway.

Dakota Johnson: The actress’ Gucci Fall 2015 dress easily meets the style quotient of elegance with its lace formation and whimsy red ribbon detail which matched her bold lip colour. I can’t extend my love to her Gucci black leather loafers, but I must admit they do add some character to the look. Dakota carried the Gucci ‘Dionysus’ shoulder bag which proved to be a popular choice at this event.

Gia Coppola: The director opted to borrow from the boys, wearing a taupe blouse and rust-coloured trousers which was presented during the Mens Fall 2015 collection. This be the key to explain the oversized nature of the look. Gia also styled her look with the Gucci loafers and a Gucci ‘Dionysus’ shoulder beige suede bag.

Miraslava Duma: The Russian editor was by far my favourite of the bunch, and that wasn’t all down to her dainty footwear choice. I love how her Gucci Fall 2015 iridescent peach zig zag lurex dress with candy pink fur cuffs strikes the perfect balance between whimsy and modest primness.

Sienna Miller In Gucci - 'Macbeth' Cannes Film Festival Premiere & 'La Glace Et Le Ciel' Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Closing Ceremony

Sienna Miller rounded out the 2015 Cannes Film Festival at the ‘Macbeth’ premiere and the ‘La Glace Et Le Ciel’ Premiere and Closing Ceremony, hosted consecutively on Saturday (May 23) and Sunday (May 24) in Cannes, France.

‘Macbeth’ Premiere: Perhaps channeling the theatricality of the film, the actress moved away from chic minimalism to a more bohemian-romantic vibe in her Gucci dusty-rose silk georgette gown with tiered layers and a red grosgrain bow and black suede rose at the collar. Adding another pop of personality, she complemented the look with the rich turquoise and magenta tones of her Bulgari High Jewelry Collection earrings and a bright Bulgari Serpenti Tubogas clutch. While I love its vibrancy, the clutch just seemed out of place.

‘La Glace Et Le Ciel’ Premiere and Closing Ceremony: Now this is boho done beautifully, with Sienna gracing the red carpet in a Gucci cerulean-blue gown that featured a leather bodice and full lace skirt with a delicate train, accented by an embroidered floral belt. I loved seeing this gown in motion with the wispy train that literally floated around Sienna. She styled the dress with a blue leather clutch with an antique gold cat head closure and a top-braided ‘do, topped off with a thankfully conservative use of Atelier Swarovski jewels that didn’t overpower the look.

Sienna has been on a roller coaster of sartorial highs and lows at Cannes. Where do these two looks land for you?

‘Carol’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Cannes 1

Here is a roundup of the rest from the ‘Carol’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 17) in Cannes, France.

Charlotte Casiraghi: The royal served up one of the few summery looks we’ve seen on this red carpet, wearing a Gucci floral gown designed by Alessandro Michele. As you would expect she presents a perfectly polished graceful look.

Salma Hayek: The actress put on quite a display wearing a magenta hued Gucci gown which fit to perfection. The look couldn’t be more opposite to Charlotte’s, but it’s classic Salma – oozing with sex appeal.

Lupita Nyong’o In Gucci – Trophée Chopard

Lupita Nyong'o In Gucci - Trophée Chopard

Lupita Nyong’o also attended the 15th anniversary of the Trophée Chopard, held during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 15) in Cannes, France.

Again showcasing the soft femininity that we saw at the Cannes opening ceremony and premiere, the actress again wore a one-of-a-kind Gucci pleated chiffon design, this one emboldened by embellishment at the neckline and belt.

Echoing the dress’s only punch of bright colour in the magenta embroidery at the belt, she wore beautifully complementary Chopard jewels and polished off the look with a rose-pink lip.

While her first Gucci gown of Cannes was not favoured by all, does this one delight or disappoint?

Cate Blanchett attended Singapore Fashion Week on Thursday (May 14), where she was also there in her ambassadorial role for SK-II.

Regal in red, she is the first celebrity to wear a look from designer Alessandro Michele’s Fall 2015 collection for Gucci.

The laid-back ease of the looser, ruffled silhouette lent a playful, flirtatious edge to the inherent sophistication of the look, which was effortlessly completed by a matching red lip and black pumps.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" Photocall - The 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival
The stars of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ were at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival for the photocall and premiere of the film on Thursday (May 14) in Cannes, France, where the two British studs coordinated their looks to handsome effect.

Tom Hardy: Standing with Charlize Theron by his side at the photocall, Tom wore a monochromatic Alexander McQueen suit with matching dress shirt that worked out to be a likeable look for him. The partially unbuttoned shirt, necklace, and buzz cut of course hinted at his bad-boy charm.

Nicholas Hoult: Also dressed in a navy colour scheme for the photocall, the actor wore his Dior Homme suit with laidback ease, likewise skipping the tie but adding another layer of polish with a crisp white dress shirt, pocket square, and black loafers. He should always wear blue, given its effect on his piercing eyes.
