‘The Dark Tower’ New York Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Camila Alves wasn’t the only one at the New York premiere of ‘The Dark Tower’ on Monday (July 31).

Matthew McConaughey: Packing plenty of colourful attitude, Matthew embraced the glories of an aubergine suit styled with a navy tie and mahogany dress shoes. I just wish the tailoring had been a bit more precises, especially around the sleeves, as the look held so much potential.

Idris Elba: I’m not sure the cropped, racing-stripe khakis would have been my go-to pick for this Gucci ensemble that likewise featured an embellished, military-style jacket and matching loafers. But, they did contribute a certain sartorial playfulness. You have to love his willingness to step outside the style box.

Katheryn Winnick: Romance was alive and well in this Marchesa Resort 2018 floral gown that I loved for its darkly vibrant femininity, further elevated by Katheryn’s sleekly complementary styling.

Pom Klementieff In Gucci – ‘Ingrid Goes West’ LA Premiere

While her co-stars Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen were twinning on the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Ingrid Goes West’, Pom Klementieff was making a style statement all of her own.

Pom’s style usually takes the sharply tailored, all-black-everything, fashion-forward route, but her Gucci Pre-Fall 2017 dress was not only vintage-inspired but awash with a bright aqua hue.

I do like it when stars step out of their comfort-zone, but I’m not really feeling this look on Pom.

While the spirited vibe was so right for this movie, I don’t think it suits her and I’m not so crazy about the fit around the bust either.

Do you agree? Or do you love this change of pace?

Comic-Con 2017 Weekend Roundup

A constellation of more stars were at Comic-Con 2017 in San Diego, California throughout this past weekend.

Naomi Watts: Attending the ‘Twin Peaks: A Damn Good Panel,’ Naomi played to a vintage spirit in this Roksanda Resort 2018 colour-block design. Perhaps it was the combination of hues that had somewhat of an aging effect on her.

Krysten Ritter: Taking a graphic, black-and-white approach, Krysten was at ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’ press line in a Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 dress. I love the striking attitude of the look in partnership with her ruby-red lip and Kurt Geiger booties for a touch of rebel edge.

Kaley Cuoco: This exploded Alice + Olivia Resort 2018 pinstripe shirt dress translated more like an afterthought with the slouchy, undone front and the head-scratching, chunky shoes when Kaley stopped by ‘The Big Bang Theory’ panel.

Entertainment Weekly Hosts Its Annual Comic-Con Party

Along with Candice Patton, Dania Ramirez, and Tessa Thompson, there were many more starlets in attendance to celebrate as Entertainment Weekly hosted Its annual Comic-Con 2017 party on Saturday (July 22) in San Diego, California.

Willa Holland: Silky, satiny materials can be a challenge to wear on the red carpet, and some of those issues with creasing and sheen were seen in this Giorgio Armani suit. Willa styled the silvery, tuxedo-inspired look with Beladora jewels and a sexy pair of Malone Souliers ‘Robyn’ pumps.

Nathalie Emmanuel: With a strong, black-and-white graphic punch, Nathalie would not be missed in this Etro Spring 2017 wrap dress that she styled with a multi-colour belt for added impact.

Phoebe Tonkin: I actually loved seeing this Gucci Fall 2017 studded, leather mini stripped of its over-the-top runway styling. What remained was a precious, girly floral frock with plenty of edge, too.

IIFA Awards

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards were held on Saturday (July 15) in New Jersey, celebrating the stars of Indian cinema.

Katrina Kaif: The Bollywood actress was one of the honourees of the evening, and there would be no denying she didn’t fully dress for the occasion in this dramatic confection of a gown from Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad’s Fall 2017 Couture collection. It featured a dreamscape of crystallized embellishment, which she complemented in her John Hardy jewels.

Celine Dion serves up a double dose of Gucci in Paris

Paris has certainly given Celine Dion a certain sartorial je ne sais quoi, as she continues to make style waves in the French city with no shortage of fun—often-extravagant, sometimes questionable—ensembles.

Monday (July 17): Fun was certainly the name of her game in this Gucci ensemble that brought a glam, embellished influence to a glorified baseball jersey uniform. And what’s a glam uniform without equally sizzling Gucci sock-stilettos in a sweet, candied-apple red. A topknot and Hermes Birkin bag completed Celine’s unique version of sporty style.

Tuesday (July 18): With another Gucci ensemble, Celine channeled the full-on quirkiness of this Asian-influenced, floral-print dress. It was really the bold, clashing explosion of colours that made the frock such an eccentric, granny-glam look—that, and yet another version of her oversized, retro shades.
