Carey Mulligan In Gucci – ‘Mudbound’ London Film Festival Premiere

For the second night in a row we’re treated to yet another Gucci gown during the London Film Festival.

Carey Mulligan joined Mary J. Blige for the premiere of ‘Mudbound’, wearing a sheer look from Gucci’s Resort 2018 collection.

I’m so intrigued by this look as it breaks the mould of what I perceived a Carey Mulligan look to be: safe.

I love how this Grecian goddess dress is given a new lease of life off the runway with a mint-green lining to really throw the cat amongst the pigeons.

Black may have killed the eclectic vibe or made the look feel too formulaic.

Francesco Russo metal ‘Karung’ pink gold sandals completed her look.

I’m totally buying what she’s selling. Are you?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here, a look at what the men have been up to on the red carpet lately.

Andrew Garfield: Joining Claire Foy for the ‘Breathe’ premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on Wednesday (October 4), Andrew couldn’t have looked more dapper if he tried in this Tom Ford tuxedo. There’s just something about the classic refinement of a tailored-to-perfection tux that gets me every time.

Winston Duke: The actor also made the honourable list of People’s ‘Ones To Watch,’ where he joined Paris Jackson for the celebration in LA on Wednesday (October 4). With this Hugo Boss suit and pops of burnt-orange accessories, he proved his style is something to look out for, too.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Jake has been making waves as the handsome new face of Eternity by Calvin Klein, but on Tuesday (October 3), he brought his eternally fine form to the ‘Stronger’ premiere during the 13th Zurich Film Festival. This Gucci midnight-navy suit checked the box—and blue is most certainly his colour—but I would have loved to see him push the envelope just a bit more.

Claire Foy In Gucci – ‘Breathe’ London Film Festival Premiere & Opening Night Gala

Claire Foy attended the premiere of ‘Breathe’ on the opening night gala of the 61st BFI London Film Festival this evening (October 4) with co-star Andrew Garfield.

The Vogue UK November 2017 cover star lit up red carpet wearing a Gucci gown cut from diaphanous black tulle which was carefully embellished with glistening crystals, beads and sequins.

As you know I’m a sucker for sequins, yet I will go on record to say this might just be her best red carpet look yet.

Claire threw us a delightful curveball at the Emmys, but the actress returned to her first love; dainty and floral – which has served her so well in the past.

Simple hair and neutral makeup perfected this BDOTW worthy look.

Aren’t you happy that skirt is lined?

Jared Leto In Gucci – Blade Runner 2049 Mexico Photocall

As Jared Leto has worn Gucci his last three times out this month, I was pretty certain the trend might continue at the recent ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Mexico photocall. And it did.

Florals again permeated his latest Gucci look, as he borrowed from the girls with this top that riffed on the PJs trend.

Given his tendency to go to sartorial extremes, I was a bit surprised he didn’t wear the floral pants, too, instead opting for red track pants.

Barring the neon-orange-accented sneakers, which were a bit clunky with the look, this was actually a more casually subdued offering from Jared—even if it could look as if he’s half-dressed for bed and for the gym.

Harry Styles In Gucci – 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival

Before taking the stage at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival, Harry Styles was on the red carpet on Friday (September 22) in Las Vegas.

As the singer has never met a statement suit he didn’t love, he hopped aboard the Gucci crazy-pattern bandwagon with this latest ensemble that we could easily see Jared Leto borrowing.

I saw this look first on stage, where the black-and-red diamond motif and pussy-bow blouse made a lot more sense to me as a performance piece.

Here, I have a feeling that there will be a number of ‘court jester’ comparisons made.

Dakota Johnson In Gucci – Green Carpet Fashion Awards

Dakota Johnson joined Zoe Saldana for the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Italia on Sunday (September 24) in Milan, Italy.

I loved her last Gucci look, so I was delighted to see her wearing the label again here—albeit, in a completely different capacity.

While we’ve lately been associating the Italian design house with head-spinning prints, none of those punchy patterns had a place in this semi-sheer tulle gown that had an air of elegant fantasy about it.

The starburst bra cups were the one element that gave me pause, but I couldn’t help but love the inky, mesmerizing layers of the gown that drifted about her—with the faint twinkle of embellishment throughout.

I did feel like something was missing—and then I remembered it was her bangs, which she brushed back in favour of a more formal look, perhaps.
