Carey Mulligan In Christian Dior Couture – ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ World Premiere

Carey Mulligan In Christian Dior Couture - 'Far From The Madding Crowd' World Premiere

Carey Mulligan attended the world premiere of ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ at BFI Southbank this evening (April 15) in London, England.

The British actress wore a Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture which despite it’s elaborate sparkle, falls flat on Carey. Try as she may, Carey is not selling this look to me.

Firstly, it’s not suited to her less-is-more style, secondly, it sits far too low and thirdly, with all due respect to Raf Simons, it looks like a fancy bathrobe.

Personally, I think the sparkles are a clever distraction for what appears to be a B.O.B.

Grey and ivory patent glitter Christian Louboutin ‘Tucsick’ pumps completed her look.

Carey Mulligan In IRO – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Carey Mulligan In IRO - The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Carey Mulligan made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (March 26) promoting her Broadway play, ‘Skylilght’.

The British actress took a very laidback approach to her look, one that I’m not entirely surprised about, as her style mantra has always been no-fuss.

Balancing feminine and masculine style, Carey wore an airy IRO jumpsuit which effectively looks like a well-matched shirt and trousers combo.

No jewels, barely there makeup, just black strappy sandals accompanied this look. One that I have to say I don’t find myself disliking.

The look is well-balanced, she looks comfortable and it’s very much in tune with her style.

Carey Mulligan In Alexander McQueen – ASMALLWORLD’s 10th Anniversary Winter Weekend Gala Benefit

Carey Mulligan In Alexander McQueen - ASMALLWORLD's 10thAnniversary Winter Weekend Gala Benefit

ASMALLWORLD’s 10th anniversary Winter Weekend, hosted by Sabine Heller and Patrick Liotard-Vogt, incorporated a swanky gala benefit for War Child hosted by the Carey Mulligan in Gstaad, Switzerland on Saturday (December 13).

As you know I have been slightly frustrated by Carey’s style of late, so you could’ve knocked me down with a feather upon sight of the British actress wearing this Alexander McQueen Resort 2015 gown.

For someone like Carey who has such a simple, minimalist style, this leopard print choice was not expected; or even dreamed about.

I just love the structured of the pink and burgundy gown, although I wish the Stella McCartney clutch was a touch more complementary.

Beauty wise she opted for a natural flawless look which included a glossy pink lip. (Regular readers will know this is a big deal for Carey).

I’m delighted to see Carey has regained her red carpet mojo. I just hope it lasts.

Are you as easily pleased as I am?

Carey Mulligan In Alexander McQueen – 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Carey Mulligan In Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 - 2014 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Carey Mulligan presented the Best Design Award during at the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards held at the London Palladium on Sunday (November 30) in London, England.

The British actress wore an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 black satin ruffled dress with black Alexander McQueen ‘Armadillo’ sandals.

I don’t know about you but my first reaction to this was “what a waste”.

Such a stunning dress deserved a red carpet moment and frankly better styling.

It’s rare that McQueen can look so blah, but Carey managed to make the impossible, possible.

Carey Mulligan In Erdem – Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards

Carey Mulligan In Erdem - Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards

Carey Mulligan made a return to the red carpet to attend the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards held at Claridge’s Hotel on Tuesday (November 4) in London, England, where she picked up the Inspiration award.

The British actress, who is also the publication’s December 2014 cover girl, wore a trio of London-based brands.

I adore the wintery, earthy woodland feel of her Erdem look, which is ironically from the Spring 2015 collection. Not used to showcasing that much skin, the cut-out detail is something new for Carey. I’m delighted to see her return to the red carpet with a fresh new look.

Sophia Webster red ‘Coco’ satin pumps with a gold heel matched her lips, with a Sophie Hulme envelope clutch rounding out her ladylike look.

It’s nice to see her wearing makeup on this occasion.

Remember her ‘Great Gatsby’ makeup-less run?
