Carey Mulligan In Emilia Wickstead & Michael Kors Collection – ‘Mudbound’ New York & LA Screenings

Carey Mulligan continues to delight on the ‘Mudbound’ press tour, attending the New York screening on Sunday (November 19).

Emilla Wickstead is a designer known for her timeless, feminine, elegant styles and I think the aesthetic suits the actress perfectly.

This was evidenced with her Pre-Fall 2017 dress. The muted pink number evoked English rose beauty. It had a quiet sophistication with the puff sleeves adding a touch of whimsy.

Some might be let down by her wearing the same shoe style as the runway, but I’m not upset by the choice as the footwear works with the frock.

Carey Mulligan In Giambattista Valli Couture – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Carey Mulligan made a rare sultry statement on the red carpet for the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

Her Giambattista Valli Fall 2017 Couture is as elegant as it is daring with its plunging neckline.

This may come as a surprise to some considering Carey’s no fuss approach to red carpet dressing, but I would’ve been more surprised had she added the statement necklace.

Carey’s Fall season has been a mixture of black and reds, but this oxblood hue is the most striking of all.

Carey Mulligan In Preen – ‘Mudbound’ AFI FEST 2017 Screening

Carey Mulligan attended the ‘Mudbound’ AFI FEST 2017 screening at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday (November 9) in Hollywood, California, joining Mary J. Blige.

I have always been enamored with the way the actress puts a high-fashion twist on classic feminine shapes, pulling them off with an easy elegance. That was demonstrated in this Preen Spring 2018 dress.

The ankle-length number has details aplenty, but it doesn’t feel contrived when paired with the coordinating peep-toe shoes and her soft hair and makeup.

I’m sure there are a number of people who will be pleased to see Carey’s dress has been lined in black. I like the lining overall, but wish some panels had a neutral lining as details get lost against the black.

Carey Mulligan In Calvin Klein – 2017 Hollywood Film Awards

Carey Mulligan was regal in red at the 2017 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 5) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress often favors feminine sophistication and this red Calvin Klein dress definitely spoke to that. The fit-and-flare skirt that stopped at the ankle had a graceful vintage feel which was enhanced with her coordinating peep-toe shoes.

When I first glanced at the outfit, I thought the detail on the neckline was a cut-out. Then I realized it was a fold. Some might like to have seen it tied in with matching pale pink accessories, but I find the way it contrasted the red colour palette to be rather striking.  Thoughts?

Carey Mulligan In Erdem – Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards 2017

The Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards 2017 on Thursday (November 2) in London also saw Carey Mulligan in the mix alongside Gemma Arterton, Hayley Atwell, and Jodie Foster.

I was immediately charmed by how this Erdem Spring 2018 plaid dress delivered a flirtatious twist on prim styling with its asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder neckline and flared, swing skirt.

While the look was in keeping with Carey’s safe-chic persona, the little bit of extra attitude here made all the difference.

A petal-pink clutch and a bouncy bob provided a modern, ladylike finish to the ensemble.

Carey Mulligan In Giambattista Valli – ‘Mudbound’ New York Screening

Carey Mulligan was back on the red carpet for the ‘Mudbound’ screening during the 55th New York Film Festival in New York City on Thursday (October 12).

After celebrating her décolletage earlier this week, she opted for a far more covered selection this time out with this ruby-red Giambattista Valli Resort 2018 gown.

I was thankful for the subtle ruffle detail and tonal belt that offered feminine shaping—and a hint of flair—to the more solemn side of the dress.

Introducing a bold red lip and a tousled, upswept bun was also a lovely way to finish out the elegant look.
