Carey Mullgian In Christian Dior – Tiffany & Co ‘The Great Gatsby’ Dinner

Carey Mulligan attended the Tiffany & Co ‘Great Gatsby’ dinner at Rockpool in Sydney, Australia on Thursday evening.

The British actress has been sticking to a minimalistic look throughout her promo tour, in what appears to be a conscious effort to look the total opposite to her character in the movie.

While even I have celebrated her simplistic efforts, this is just one minimalistic look too many for my liking.

Carey wore a black Dior cap-sleeve gown which doesn’t provide much of a talking point at all.

Had the dress been a few inches shorter we would’ve gotten a chance to see what appear to be neon-green Dior pumps.

Carey Mulligan In Nina Ricci – ‘The Great Gatsby’ Sydney Premiere

Following a short trip to promote her new movie ‘The Great Gatsby’ in Cannes last week, Carey Mulligan took to the red carpet at Moore Park in Australia for the Sydney premiere.

Despite the wet conditions, Carey opted for an arm-baring look from the Nina Ricci Fall 2013 collection.

Having stuck to a black-and-white colour palette during Cannes, this look featured a Chantilly lace blush-coloured bustier paired with black cropped pants, rather than the skirt this look was presented with on the runway.

Many of you will be delighted to discover that Carey’s makeup artist travelled with her on this leg of her promo tour. Just that pink lip colour alone brightens up her face, preventing her from looking so washed out and tired.

Giving her Brian Atwood ‘Aida’ peep-toes a break, the British actress wore Saint Laurent t-bar sandals on this occasion, with Tiffany jewels and wavy tresses completing her look.

Carey Mulligan In Vionnet – ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Carey Mulligan attended the premiere for her latest movie, ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’, during Cannes Film Festival working summers hottest trend, black-and-white.

Her white Vionnet Fall 2013 gown with a central slit and keyhole detail features a black satin neckline which she completed with her favourite Brian Atwood ‘Aida’ sandals.

I once again love the simplicity of the look. I don’t know how, but she is totally winning me over with this minimalist run.

Carey not only kept the same hair and makeup from the photocall earlier in the afternoon, but she also opted to not wear any jewels.

Were you expecting more, or are you swept away like I am?

Justin is looking so very devilishly handsome his tux.

Carey Mulligan In Chloé – ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

The gorgeous Carey Mulligan is having quite a busy time during Cannes Film Festival, as she was back at the Palais des Festivals in France today following ‘The Great Gatsby’ premiere on Wednesday.

This time she was promoting her new film ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ at photocall with co-stars Justin Timberlake and Garrett Hedlund.

Black was again her colour of choice; this time selecting a look from the Chloe Fall 2013 collection.

The LBD with military-style detailing was accented with a gold buckle belt which differs from the version which took to the runway.

What also appears to be different is the silhouette. Carey’s dress is A-line, however, the runway dress appears to be more streamlined, but this could just be a result of the models outstretched legs.

Minimalist styling, as we’ve come to expect, included a barely there makeup – with a touch of pink lip colour – and black Louboutin peep-toes.

There was a 50/50 divide on her Dior Couture ‘The Great Gatsby’ premiere look, so what are your expectations for this evening?

The IFP, Calvin Klein Collection & Euphoria Calvin Klein celebrated Women In Film during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening. All the attendees were of course decked out in Calvin Klein.

Nicole Kidman: The actress, who has been on fire so far this festival, wore a leather dress from the Fall 2013 collection with Jimmy Choo ‘Balma’ pumps and Fred Leighton jewels. The most interesting feature of this look is the cut-out details in the skirt. Sadly, they’re not highlighted in this picture.

Carey Mulligan: Also opting for black, the actress styled her simple strapless Calvin Klein LBD with her favourite Brian Atwood ‘Aida’ sandals.

Naomie Harris: The beautiful actress showed off her toned figures wearing an ecru halter dress from the Resort 2013 collection featuring cut-out details at the waist. As always, her styling was impeccable.

Rooney Mara: In Rooney’s early days, when she sported long wavy brunette locks, her go-to dress was always nude. It appears that, even though she now tends to favour black or white, she still can’t resist a nude frock. Her last nude dress left her looking washed out and ghostly; however, this look is the perfect hue to complement her skin tone.

Carey Mulligan In Christian Dior Couture – ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere & Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Carey Mulligan, the star of ‘The Great Gatsby’, finally took her place on the red carpet this evening for the Cannes Film Festival premiere.

The British star surprised me by finally applying a touch of lippie, in a bold red hue. She also surprised me with the length of her hair. I had assumed it was much shorter; however, she has been concealing the length in a bun and updos for the last few red carpet appearances.

I’m guessing she had to apply the red lip colour in order to prevent her being washed out by her blush matte satin duchesse Dior Couture gown.

The fit and the streamline silhouette leave me in awe. As you know, I’m more likely to get excited by a bling gown on the red carpet, but this minimalist gown hits another fashion home run for the talented actress.

Tiffany jewels completed her look.
