Yara Shahidi In Antonio Marras – 2017 Annual Artois Awards

Yara Shahidi joined Lily Collins at the 2017 Annual Artois Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday (January 19).

The ‘Black-ish’ actress opted for another statement black-and-white dress, this time an Antonio Marras Pre-Fall 2016 exploded lace gown.

She brought a youthful light into this covered-up gown wearing it with both exuberance and ease.

Not afraid to constantly experiment with her looks, Yara is clearly showing herself to be an up-and-coming style starlet to watch.

Teresa Palmer In Etro – The IMDb Studio At The 2017 Sundance Film Festival

Teresa Palmer was at the IMDb Studio during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Friday (January 20).

Likely in an effort to make her Etro Fall 2016 paisley tapestry dress more suitable for the winter temperatures, the ‘Berlin Syndrome’ actress covered up completely with a Wolford black Colorado turtleneck body and Wolford black tights.

With black booties rounding out the look, would you have liked Teresa to have taken inspiration from the runway? As it may have presented a more flattering and edgy silhouette while still being weather appropriate.

Lily Collins In Alberta Ferretti – 2017 Annual Artois Awards

Lily Collins was a presenter at the 2017 Annual Artois Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday (January 19).

The event saw her put a fresh twist on minimalist sensibilities with an Alberta Ferretti Spring 2017 dress paired with Jimmy Choo ‘Kayomi’ black pumps.

The geometric cutouts gave a peek-a-boo illusion and the corset-inspired tie at each side only heightened the subtle allure of this dress.

A fusion of charm and glam, the look was accessorized only by her wide black headband for a mod spin on the popular ’60s ’do.

Kelly Rowland In Audra – ‘I Am Not Your Negro’ Premiere

Kelly Rowland attended the premiere of ‘I Am Not Your Negro’ at LACMA on Thursday (January 12) in LA.

The thing about statement coats is that they can either leave you wishing for them to come off immediately, or they can cause you to completely forget about what’s underneath by virtue of their sartorial power.

The entertainer’s Audra Fall 2016 coat unfortunately fell into the former camp, as I simply wanted her to take it off in hopes that the rest of her ensemble was marginally better.

Although I will give her credit for channeling the spirit of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in this piece that would arguably make a great abstract painting.

Naomie Harris In Christian Dior – The London Critic’s Circle Film Awards

Naomie Harris was awarded Supporting Actress of the Year for ‘Moonlight’ at The London Critic’s Circle Film Awards in London on Sunday (January 22).

What instantly occurred to me when I saw Naomie in this Christian Dior Spring 2017 dress is that:

1. She doesn’t often wear black and;
2. Doesn’t she look amazing in black?

This sharply tailored design could’ve been served up with simple black pumps, but a design like this delivers endless styling possibilities, so thankfully Naomie dutifully obliged with a gold Lee Savage clutch, Graziela Gems earrings and heart-racing Christian Louboutin ‘Chapito’ ankle-strap d’orsay pumps.

Modern power dressing at its finest.

Nina Dobrev In Elie Saab – ‘xXx’: Return of Xander Cage’ LA Premiere

Between Ruby Rose, Ariadna Gutierrez, Julianne Hough, and now Nina Dobrev, there was some serious leg at the ‘xXx’: Return of Xander Cage’ LA Premiere on Thursday (January 19).

Nina flaunted her power pins in an Elie Saab Spring 2017 gown with an arcade of sequin stars emblazoned across the bodice, ensuring the sultry dress didn’t take itself too seriously.

She echoed the starburst motif in the hair pins that adorned her crimped locks to round out this look that balanced feminine charm with fiercer glam appeal.

Sophia Webster Coco crystal embellished satin pumps, Jennifer Behr Galaxy barrette hair clips and a Jimmy Choo clutch completed her look.
