Premiere

Penelope Cruz arrived on the red carpet for the “Broken Embraces” premeire which closed “New York Film Festival” wearing a silvery grey Haider Ackermann Fall 2009 ensemble.

The look comes in 3 parts including a grey diagonal seamed skirt with an unfinished hem.

An anthracite grey wool asymmetric hooded waistcoat with a cowled front and a chunky chrome zip.

The look in complete with a dark grey leather jacket with strong padded shoulders, an inverted collar and an asymmetric hemline.

At first I wasn’t crazy about Pen in this look, but the more I see the look the more I love it as it’s such a departure from what I would expect from her.

If you cast your minds back to Cannes Film Festival you will remember that Tilda Swinton wore a similar look in a gorgeous deep maroon colour.

Paper Magazine Dinner Honoring Pedro Almodovar & Penelope Cruz

For this party thrown in her honour Penelope wore a white Chanel Resort 2010 dress with gold embroidered details on the shoulders and pockets.

I much prefer how this look worked on the runway with the cropped embroidered pants.

Pen paired her look with gold Jimmy Choo heels.

Press Conference

Penelope appeared to have kept the same make-up for every look.

For the press conference she wore an Alexander McQueen Houndstooth check pencil dress.

This is my favourite look of the 3 as this ultra-chic houndstooth wool drape-front pencil dress shows off her gorgeous figure.

The Spanish actress paired her dress with a black satin pumps.

When I saw Rachel Weisz at the “Agora” Madrid Premiere the first thing I said was “O.M.G”.

Not OMG this has to be on the Best Dressed list, but OMG in utter shock.

Shock that her Prada dress looks SO creased.

I tried to justify to myself that the dress was meant to be ‘crushed’, but it’s clearly creased by looking at the skirt. *winces*

What a bad way to complete a very stylish day.

If you are thinking the dress looks familiar, it’s because Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Alba have both worn Prada dresses with the same embellished details on the neckline.

On the plus side her Prada shoes are ace, plus her hair and make-up is flawless.

Lily Cole walked the red carpet in London last night for the UK premiere of her movie “The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus”.

The British model/actress/Cambridge University student looked so statuesque wearing a Chanel Spring 2008 Couture black and white tired haltered gown with a flower detailed neckline.

I’m not so crazy about the shoes, but everything else works for me.

I believe this would have been difficult for many to pull off, but being the tall and beautiful Lily does it with ease.

This is the second Chanel Couture look the model has worn during this promotional tour. She first wore Chanel Couture in Cannes.

After being in Australia to promote “Couples Retreat” Kristen Bell walked the red carpet at the LA premiere gives us typical LA glamour wearing a gorgeous Marchesa Spring 2010 dress.

The embroidered baby blue strapless dress had a chiffon detail draped around the dress, which then fell by her side.

The actress opted for champagne satin Christian Louboutin’s, a silver bracelet and a classy side swept updo to complete her look.

No question she is up for BDOTW.

I’m so grateful to Malin Akerman for wearing one of my favourite looks from the Resort 2010 collection.

The funny girl opted for this Thakoon ensemble consisting of a sunshine yellow twisted bustier paired with a nude ruched skirt.

I would have been totally in love with this look had it not been for the grey Aldo heels which leave me undecided as to whether I love ‘em or hate ‘em, but I’m thankful they’re not black.

Her stunning silver pearl cuffs are by Miriam Haskell.

Kali Hawk wears the Altuzarra Fall 2009 runway version of the dress I had hoped to see on Paula Patton yesterday.

I much prefer this version, its sexier, bolder and looks nothing like a bin liner.

Jason Bateman, who stars in this movie walked the red carpet wearing Dolce & Gabbana with his beautiful wife Amanda Anka.

She wore the same nude Dolce & Gabbana dress which Penelope Cruz wore in Cannes this year, paired with Lucy Liu’s favourite Jimmy Choo Idol platform sandals.

Carey Mulligan has become SO interesting to watch on the red carpet lately as she’s fearless.

Many newcomers may have picked something safe for a big premiere, but Carey thought stuff that I’m going to wear this gladiatorial Prada Fall 2009 studded dress and steal the headlines.

And she did.

Only the somewhat safe pieces have been worn from this collection, so I really admire Carey as she really went for it.

Many will mock her and I’m sure many will hate this look, but I applaud the British actress.

You would’ve expected Maggie Gyllenhaal to have stood out at this premiere being the bigger star.

But I guess since she isn’t actually in this movie and was only there to support her husband Peter Sarsgaard last night, she didn’t want to outshine the Carey on her big night.

Maggie opted for a sleek strapless black Prada jumpsuit and a large black clutch.

Very simple, yet very elegant.

Carey Mulligan is a young British actress who has some people talking about a Oscar Best Actress nomination for her movie “An Education”.

Shia LaBeouf girlfriend seems to have a thing for floral prints and burst of colour.

This time she wore a Lanvin Resort 2010 strapless floral silk cloqué dress with floral appliqué at hip, paired with a black clutch and Christian Louboutin studded pigalle heels.

I love the dress, especially the print. She’s a BDOTW contender in my eyes.

For some reason Carey reminds me of a younger Natalie Portman or a Michelle Williams. I think it’s the pixie cut.

Drew Barrymore has another WWIB? poll coming her way as she wore the same black fitted L’Wren Scott lacquered tweed dress from the Fall 2009 collection, which Nicole Kidman wore just last week to the White Ribbon Alliance dinner.

Ironically they both wore red peep-toes too.

What I didn’t notice about this dress from Nicole, is that it has a sexy red exposed zipper at the back.

Eve broke up the very black red carpet, by wearing a burgundy Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2009 bustier fitted dress with black peep-toes.

Love the dress and sleek silhouette it gives Eve, but I hate the hair.

I’m not at all surprised that Ellen Page is wearing black, but I am surprised she’s wearing this very sexy Alexander Wang Slim Grommet dress.

When she was promoting “Juno”, it was a struggle to get her into a dress, now she looks grown up, confident and sexy in a dress we’ve seen a few times already this year.

Ellen wore her dress with Rachel Comey Cavat boots.

Serena Williams continues her good form on the red carpet, wearing a gold sequined Gryphon racer back tank top, paired with a black blazer and cropped pants.

Either someone has a new stylist, or someone has learnt that cute frilly dresses don’t suit a masculine frame.

Shenae Grimes opted for a cute ivory and black striped Sass & Bide dress, paired with double ankle strapped heels.
