Katherine Waterston In Christian Dior – ‘Inherent Vice’ LA Premiere

Katherine Waterston In Christian Dior - 'Inherent Vice' LA Premiere

Katherine Waterston attended the premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures’ ‘Inherent Vice’ held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Wednesday (December 10) in Hollywood, California.

On paper I shouldn’t be a fan of Katherine’s black-all-the-time minimalist style, yet once again I find myself totally captivated by her look.

The actress wore a black cold-shoulder Dior Fall 2014 satin and crepe flared dress styled with nothing but black Brian Atwood ‘Melly’ strappy sandals, a simple ponytail and a deep red lip colour.

Her style in part is much like Rooney Mara’s, yet Katherine appears to have much more confidence on the red carpet.

Menswear Roundup

Menswear Midweek Roundup 10 dec

Here is a quick roundup of a few fine gentlemen who took to the red carpet on Tuesday night (December 9).

Orlando Bloom: Joining Evangeline Lilly on the red carpet for the LA premiere of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’, the actor went for a smart-casual Dior Homme navy wool two-button notch-lapel suit styled with a red cotton, small collar, graphic jacquard print shirt and smart sneakers. Was the look too casual?

Eddie Redmayne: Eddie joined Felicity Jones on the red carpet for the London premiere of ‘The Theory Of Everything’. Decked out in a very smart Hardy Amies plaid suit, the actor, as always, goes above and beyond when it comes to red carpet dressing. He has worn many a great suit on the red carpet, but this one is for his hall of fame.

Richard Armitage: Also taking to the red carpet for the ‘Hobbit’ premiere, the actor opted to revamp his classic style with a double-breasted, peaked-lapel plaid blazer. This marvellous piece was paired with dark grey trousers, not opting to go all the way like Eddie. Should he have, or do you like Richard’s take on modern suiting?

Brie Larson In Rodarte – ‘The Gambler’ New York Premiere

Brie Larson In Rodarte - 'The Gambler' New York Premiere

Brie Larson attended the New York premiere of ‘The Gambler’ held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on Wednesday (December 10) in New York City.

The actress wore a Rodarte Fall 2014 black silk, chiffon, velvet and tulle dress enriched with Swarovski crystals for a festive flourish.

Brie isn’t one for too much fuss on the red carpet, however, this ultra-feminine look with an edge is very much in tune with her indie-girl style.

Christian Louboutin shoes and Forevermark jewels accessorized her look, with kohl-rimmed eyes and a slicked-back do providing the finishing touches.

Evangeline Lilly In Alberta Ferretti – ‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ LA Premiere

Evangeline Lilly returned to the red carpet in great form for the LA premiere of ‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies’ held at the Dolby Theatre on Tuesday (December 9) in Hollywood, California.

After being so-so in Mexico City, she looked radiant last night wearing an Alberta Ferretti Spring 2015 blush gown enhanced with white lace embroidery, which she styled with yet another Edie Parker pearlized clutch (which she annoying carried at the waist in every photo) and Atelier Swarovski jewels.

Alberta Ferretti is renowned for creating elegant eveningwear, and this fantasy princess gown is no exception.

Channelling an Old Hollywood screen star look with her retro marcel wave do, the makeup was kept soft and neutral, working in perfect harmony with her ethereal gown.

Felicity Jones in Christian Dior Couture – ‘The Theory of Everything’ London Premiere

Felicity Jones in Christian Dior Couture - 'The Theory of Everything' London Premiere

Felicity Jones took to the ‘blue’ carpet for the London premiere of ‘The Theory of Everything’ hosted at Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday (December 9) in England.

The actress stunned in a Christian Dior Fall 2014 Couture dress that was nothing short of breathtaking.

Again breaking out of her all-black comfort zone, she wore this pristine, white quilted confection with statement embroidery. While the 18th century-inspired pannier-style silhouette wasn’t exactly figure-lengthening, the voluminous form was a risk that paid off in my view.

When styled with lavender metallic Dior pumps, a partless ’do, and a bright-pink lip, the frock fully took on modern, relevant appeal, rather than falling into an overly fussy trap.

The overall effect was one of precious doll-like quality—with a dash of edge. What say you?

Alyssa Milano In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘Into The Woods’ World Premiere

Alyssa Milano In Dolce & Gabbana - 'Into The Woods' World Premiere

Alyssa Milano attended the ‘Into The Woods’ world premiere held at Ziegfeld Theater on Monday (December 8) in New York City.

Like Emily Blunt, Alyssa also opted to wear Dolce & Gabbana, selecting a dark-green ruched chiffon dress from the Fall 2014 accented with a tonal lace-up corset.

In a word this is unflattering.

The colour is great, the idea – in theory – was a good one, but the execution and styling let her down.
