‘Burning (Beoning)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

The second Wednesday at Cannes Film Festival is always one of the quietest days as celebs gear up for tonight’s amfAR Gala, but there were a few models who turn out for the ‘Burning (Beoning)’ premiere last night (May 16).

Toni Garrn: The model looked breath-taking wearing an Elie Saab Fall 2018 gown. Had it not been for the required Cannes bling – courtesy of Messika – I think that bodice would’ve been considered detail enough.

Celina Jade @ 2018 Cannes Film Festival

Celina Jade has been making the rounds at the Cannes Film Festival, with three red carpets to her name thus far.

‘Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben)’ Premiere: On the opening day of Cannes on Tuesday (May 8), Celina wore a designer I’m always intrigued to see on the red carpet with this Stephane Rolland Haute Couture gown. Despite the long train, I’ll have to admit that this particular moment didn’t have the sculptural extravagance and wow factor I had my hopes set on. The platform shoes didn’t really help matters.

‘Under The Silver Lake’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Lovely ladies attended the ‘Under The Silver Lake’ Cannes Film Festival premiere this evening (May 15) in France.

Melanie Thierry: The French actress didn’t get caught up in the heavy embellishment that features prominently at the festival. She kept things clean in a minimalist forest green gown. I’m not completely convinced about the fabric.

Lea Seydoux: Taking a more maximalist direction, she was decked out in jewels and a printed gown. The graphic lines of the dress were so sharp the jewels weren’t necessary. Considering Cannes is about the sparkle, I would have chosen the earrings or necklace.

Ariane Labed: ‘The Lobster’ actress also went a different route with her in Chloe Fall 2018 ensemble. It earns points for individualism and for being reworked, but the boots bring it down to more of a photocall look. With a bit of bling and different shoes, it could have been more successful for the event.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The fashion was strong at the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Tuesday evening (May 15). Attendees joined Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-BridgeThandie Newton and Elizabeth Debicki.

Liu Wen: Never one to go down the sheer, bedazzled route, she shone in Bottega Veneta Fall 2018. She borrowed styling ideas from the runway, but added a Bottega Veneta clutch. The rich marigold colour had such a sumptuous air. I’m curious to see how the ankle boots will go down.

Toni Garrn: The German model showed some leg in Roberto Cavalli Couture. It certainly embodied the designer’s sensual aesthetic. It also showed a level of craftsmanship for the way the lining perfectly matched her skin tone with no distracting bra cups or panty lines.

Doutzen Kroes: The Dutch beauty traded in the gown for strong-shouldered Tom Ford separates paired with pink Tom Ford pumps. Some ensembles with exaggerated shoulders haven’t gone down well, but the proportions of this look shouldn’t offend.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge In Mother of Pearl & Giambattista Valli Haute Couture – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been busy promoting ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ at the Cannes Film Festival. Firstly, she attended the photocall on Tuesday (May 15). Then she stepped out this evening for the premiere, alongside Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Elizabeth Debicki.

Photocall: I was enchanted when I saw this Mother of Pearl dress as the emerald green colour is divine on her. The voluminous sleeves with embellishment only add to the drama. Completed with the Roger Vivier shoes, it was a strong look that she could have worn to a premiere.

Premiere: After setting the bar high, she continued her fashion reign in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. The whimsical piece with three-dimensional appliques demonstrates how sheer fabric can be incorporated into a look for a cohesive statement. The bow-accented Gianvito Rossi shoes and Messika jewels rounded out the ethereal style.

Emilia Clarke In Christian Dior Haute Couture – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Emilia Clarke joined Elizabeth Debicki, Jennifer Connelly, Sonam Kapoor and Thandie Newton for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ this evening (May 15).

I’ve never been anti-Emilia Clarke’s blonde hair, but I know I woud’ve swoon a lot harder had she worn this Dior Haute Couture superimposed black, burgundy and navy blue tulle gown with her brunette locks.

For the LA premiere, many of you had said that was her best look ever, so I’m wondering if this Dior supersedes the Valentino in your eyes.

Maybe because everything feels more glamorous at Cannes, I would say this was my favourite of the two.

I adore the dreamy like quality, which is still thoroughly modern and not too princessy.
