Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Wore Amit Aggarwal To The ‘Histoires De La Nuit’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was back on the red carpet making her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival for the Histoires De La Nuit premiere.

Some of us will never forget the Indian actress’ outings in Falguni Shane Peacock for the Megalopolis and Kinds Of Kindness premieres in 2024, before she pivoted to a sleeker Gaurav Gupta silhouette for last year’s Colours Of Time premiere.

But tonight, the grandeur returned in spectacular fashion with this custom Amit Aggarwal couture creation, delivering yet another major Indian fashion moment on the Cannes red carpet.

Titled Luminara, the gown centred on the idea of light in motion, translated through the sculptural silhouette and thousands of crystalline embellishments sweeping across the body like illuminated waves. The effect was almost hypnotic as the embellishment caught the light from every angle.

The winged shoulder details added a futuristic drama which balanced the precision of the mermaid silhouette, while the abyss-blue colour amplified the cosmic mood Amit Aggarwal was aiming for.

I adore how the liquid-like shawl wrapped around her arms added even more impact, cascading behind her like shimmering waves from a quiet waterfall, softening the sculptural sharpness of the gown with fluid elegance.

This is exactly the kind of unapologetic Cannes glamour I expect from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and she delivered every inch of it.
