Lily Collins In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Love, Rosie’ Rome Film Festival Premiere

Lily Collins In Elie Saab Couture - 'Love, Rosie' Rome Film Festival Premiere

Lily Collins looked ever so graceful on the red carpet yesterday evening (October 19) for the ‘Love, Rosie’ premiere during the 9th Rome Film Festival in Rome, Italy following the photocall during the day.

While some of you have bemoaned Elie Saab’s repetitive gowns, I’m sure your heart skipped several beats, like mine did, when you saw Lily take to the red carpet in this elegant Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture ombre gown.

It’s the one we all wanted to see on the red carpet, perhaps on the likes of Penelope Cruz, Mila Kunis or (wishful thinking) Marion Cotillard, but Lily more than holds her own in this breathtaking design.

Yet another bold lip, this time in a darker berry hue, perfects this look along with a retro wavy bob ‘do, with Vita Fede jewelry rounding out her look.

This has BDOTY contention written all over it. Will it make your list?

Lily Collins is a vision in this dress – she’s styled it to perfection and looks drop dead gorgeous. Most definitely BDOTY – this is my favorite look of the year so far!

  2. Parvati October 22, 2014 at 15:56 #

    Simply breathtaking!!!

  3. jones19 October 22, 2014 at 11:47 #

I’ve been waiting for someone to wear this gown and Lily does it justice! LOVE

  4. Peony October 21, 2014 at 06:35 #

Beautiful and striking. I do feel like this is a gown for an older, more sophisticated woman – especially the way it’s been styled on Lily. I’m imagining this on Marion Cotillard, for example.

    • Jessica October 21, 2014 at 13:50 #

This would be stunning on Marion. Way better than those Dior messes she’s always stuck in.

  5. Teleholic October 21, 2014 at 06:07 #

    ABSOLUTELY BDOTY-WORTHY

  6. Shruti October 21, 2014 at 05:51 #

    Stunningly simple and simply stunning.

  7. Jessica October 21, 2014 at 04:17 #

Gorgeous. The hair and makeup make it for me. I love a bold, vampy lip.

  8. Kevinappears October 21, 2014 at 01:16 #

BDOTY at first sight! This is epic!

  9. bfly October 21, 2014 at 00:46 #

I think I died and went to fashion heaven! I voted for Lily last week in her striking red gown, and will undoutedly be voting for her again this week, no matter it’s only Monday. This is also a top contender for me on my BDOTY list. Indeed, my heart skipped upon seeing this. Elie Saab is THE fairy godfather of fashion!

When I saw pictures of this dress on the runway I was in love with it and couldnt wait to see someone wear it on the red carpet! But seeing Lily Collins in it is such a letdown. Yes she looks beautiful (she always does), but someone else could have made this look fabulous and she just doesn’t. Plus the hairstyle is too much..still love her though..

  11. kane October 20, 2014 at 19:48 #

    Wow!

  12. Vanie October 20, 2014 at 19:33 #

Amazing! The ombré effect…..it actually is breathtaking

  13. Nadine October 20, 2014 at 19:30 #

Like that there are different colors, not just shades, in the dress & love her hair.

  14. Jessica October 20, 2014 at 17:37 #

YES! I have been waiting for someone to wear this! BEAUTIFUL! I am so happy that it is Lily Collins! BDOTW and for sure on my list of BDOTY! Gorgeous!

  15. Clara October 20, 2014 at 17:19 #

The thing with Elie Saab is that yes, his gown may be repetitive – looking at the collections. But when it comes to red carpet, he still is one of the best.
Lily pulls it off perfectly, and being petite she needed very high shoes, which you don’t even see that much so it’s okay. Hair and make-up is on point too. Definitely in my BDOTY list.

  16. pinksugar October 20, 2014 at 17:10 #

Hate the hair and makeup but gorgeous dress.

  17. Phoenix October 20, 2014 at 17:04 #

I agree with most everyone else here, this is breathtaking! LOVE this dress, and she pulls it off beautifully I think. BDOTW no doubt, It will end up on my personal BDOTY.

  18. Courtney Klein October 20, 2014 at 16:54 #

BDOTW and one of the BDOTY for sure!

  19. Rebecca Z October 20, 2014 at 16:33 #

It is very pretty and she looks good in it. I am not a big fan of her hair–particularly the barrette or whatever is holding it back on the right side. It introduces a little girl quality to what should be a very sophisticated and sensual look. A Lauren Bacall-style wave would have been way sexier.

  20. Nicky October 20, 2014 at 16:19 #

She looks fantastic, the gown itself is beautiful, but her impeccable styling really elevates it. And I think Lily has enough elegance and charisma to wear this wonderfully, despite her age and height. Definitely BDOTW, but this year is so strong for BDOTY, I don’t think she’ll quite make the cut.

  21. Pedro October 20, 2014 at 15:31 #

    She looks gorgeous, BDOTW!

BDOTY? Not for me, not at all

  22. Nat39 October 20, 2014 at 15:24 #

The gown is beautiful and her presentation is polished but I’m still not convinced she is the right person for it. Needed someone who could bring more mature femininity and romance to it.

  23. bisbee October 20, 2014 at 14:50 #

I think she looks absolutely stunning.

  24. amy October 20, 2014 at 14:48 #

    jaw-dropping of course.she looks lovely

  25. gabis October 20, 2014 at 14:47 #

This is one of my favorite dresses from that collection and whilst she looks spectacular this is BDOTW worthy only at best.
BDOTY contender? Maybe on someone else.

    • Christine October 20, 2014 at 16:13 #

In the same boat. BDOTW worthy but not sure for BDOTY

  26. Patricia October 20, 2014 at 14:16 #

    I don’t get all these reactions above…
The dress clearly doesn’t fit well in her breast, neither the hair and makeup match the minimalism feel of the dress.
Such a shame, on the model looks stunning.

  27. Kathryn October 20, 2014 at 13:02 #

    Absolutely!! This is perfection!

  28. Ramsay October 20, 2014 at 13:02 #

I prefere the dress on the runway to be honest
It’s a nice dress and in my opinion it had the potential to look sensational on the red carpet – but maybe on someone else

    • CreoleLady October 20, 2014 at 18:08 #

+1. She’s trying hard with the shoes and hair but I’m not convinced. BDOTW-worthy at best for me.

  29. zineb October 20, 2014 at 13:01 #

Oh wow BDOY list for sure. Fashion lovers long for moments like these. Elie Saab is still the king of the red carpet, he makes the most beautiful gowns.

  30. Yeliz October 20, 2014 at 12:49 #

I’m head over heels for this look since the first moment I saw it. It’s perfection, she looks sensational. I wouldn’t change a thing. This look has a solid spot in my BDOTY-list right now.

  31. Denise October 20, 2014 at 12:47 #

Wow ! Perfect ! She is definately in my BDOTY list.

  32. AB October 20, 2014 at 12:35 #

She looks incredible, this is best I have ever seen her look.

  33. jas October 20, 2014 at 12:22 #

lily is killing it at the moment. this and the pamela roland two-piece. amazing! bdotw for sure.

  34. H October 20, 2014 at 12:20 #

    One word – WOW!

  35. alvaro_spain October 20, 2014 at 12:20 #

This is great, but I prefer Rachel McAdams In Zuhair Murad Couture.

  36. jess October 20, 2014 at 12:13 #

    BDOTY!!

  37. rye October 20, 2014 at 12:08 #

  38. Christine October 20, 2014 at 12:02 #

This is a possible BDOTY candidate, but this screams more BDOTW.

She looks really good here. The dress is stunninGGG

  39. dressaddict October 20, 2014 at 12:00 #

The shoes are so wrong with this ethereal dress. Don’t get it.

    • Mick October 20, 2014 at 12:05 #

Yeah the shoes are kind of harsh, but I suppose she’s tiny and so she needed the height to pull off the gown. Other than that, this is such a breath-taking look, and possible BDOTY candidate (BDOTW for sure).

      • Nicky October 20, 2014 at 16:17 #

Yes. I much prefer chunky platforms that are mostly hidden anyway, to extra fabric pooling on the ground. Definitely a potential BDOTY look.

    • Gha October 20, 2014 at 12:06 #

      I completely agree.
The dress is stunning, and she looks good in it but I wish someone with more presence, more charisma had worn it. The dress wears her more than she wears it, I think.

      • anette October 20, 2014 at 12:20 #

I had earmarked this for Jessica Chastain, Marion Cotillard or even Angelina Jolie if she ever felt like wearing colour again.

  40. Leto October 20, 2014 at 11:59 #

Perfection! Can’t think of a single thing I would change.

  42. Britta October 20, 2014 at 11:59 #

For sure a BDOTY on my list. Breathtaking!
