Julianne Moore In Balenciaga – 2013 Met Gala

Julianna Moore In Balenciaga - 2013 Met Gala

Never one to blend in, Julianne Moore stood out in a forest green frock in a sea of black and pink at Monday’s Met Gala in New York.

Draped in Balenciaga, Julianne’s dress was simplistic and artistic with origami fold details along the bust and waist.

Paired with monochromatic earrings by Irene Neuwirth and heels, the actress looked fashion forward in the rich colour.

One of my favourite parts to the entire look? Julianne’s fun and totally on-theme hair. Her red strands teased into a faux hawk with slicked back sides was as chic as it was punk.

A major red carpet thumbs up for Julianne.

wow me and you might never agree on a look again FC! I despise the hair..damn she shouldnt have ever left her house looking like this…its not punk its more snooki’s poof gone wrong. Also, I despise the shoes and the fact that I can even see them. The green color doesnt even save this look for me. She should have gone with Tom Ford.

The gown is so unflattering, especially at the waist, she needed a belt. And the hair looks rather comical to me.

      +1

I love julianne moor and she looks so cool in this Balenciaga dress. it is slightly too boxy on her, but I think she can pull it off. also love the pop of the green jewels

Such an unflattering dress, it does nothing for her.

      Agree

Her bouffant is comical. And this fit is heinous, Im pretty sure there’s a good body underneath this dress

    A no.

  7. Penny May 7, 2013 at 06:48 #

She looks wide as a house

  8. MissyM May 7, 2013 at 07:34 #

This makes her look like a block, and she has a nice shape.

    This hairstyle is just ridiculous.

I am on your side here FC! I love the hair and the dress, I don’t think it’s unflattering because not every dress has to be nipped at the waist. she looks really nice here :D

This looks a little messy to me. I like the earrings but that is about it.

    is something wrong with me?

I LOVE all these actresses’ “ridiculous” hairs/makeup. yes its confusing for some, but its so interesting and it works!

FC i forgot how awesome you wore at covering these kinds of events, I’m a long time fan and your site has been bookmarked for years, but props to you for this one :) keep it up!

thanks…had help this year…honestly I don’t know I did it before by myself.

Very unflattering to her body. She looks boxy. I didn’t like anything about it at all.

  14. dee May 7, 2013 at 14:03 #

    This is just beyond awful.

  15. EmmaWoodhouse May 7, 2013 at 15:15 #

I can see that she tried but it came off as wrong as could be. Forest green is generally a great color for her but this time it feels rather dull, and the poison green jewelry clashes with it. The fit of the dress is EXTREMELY unflattering, as it makes her look very wide (this is often a problem with her looks). The hair si the worst, though…take notes from Jennifer Lopez on the bouffant, from other stars who did it right–this just looks very awkward.

  16. Moxie May 7, 2013 at 15:23 #

Thumbs down for me. The hair is awful. And the dress is making her look wider than she is. Not remotely flattering.

I adore Julianne Moore, but not enough to make me love (or even like) this look.

  18. Lina May 7, 2013 at 16:38 #

If she hadn’t done the hair that way I would have thought it very bland, now it’s the perfect mix och punk and minimalism! One of the best looks of the night!

  19. Parvati May 8, 2013 at 01:15 #

I like how her hair follows the theme of the night, but the rest of the look is completely irrelevant, plus the dress is not that flattering to her figure.

I really like this. Love the hair and makeup – elegant with an edge – and love the colour of the dress, although the fit could be slightly better. I think she’s done well here.
