Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen – 2013 SAG Awards

Jessica Chastain In Alexander McQueen - 2013 SAG Awards

We were a tad disappointed by Jessica Chastain’s Golden Globes gown, but she fared much better on Sunday evening at the 2012 SAG Awards.

Giving credit to Sarah Burton, who created her 2012 Oscars gown, the actress looked breathtaking in Alexander McQueen.

Her custom fiery red strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline gave her a sexy silhouette as she oozed glamour in her classic look.

Dazzling in Harry Winston jewels, the ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star opted for soft waves and sweet pink lip colour.

This ranks highly on my favourites of the night.

    She looks FLAWLESS
    What a perfect human being!
Anyone who says something bad about this look, should find some kind of treatment…

  2. Jai January 28, 2013 at 22:20 #

Don’t like this at all. The fit is off, the dress is dated (and dull) and I’m just not a fan of red.

  3. Parvati January 28, 2013 at 22:10 #

This is an amazing look for her! I especially love her necklace.

  4. Dhppy January 28, 2013 at 18:31 #

It’s a fine dress, just not what I want from McQueen. Where is the quirk?

  5. Pedro January 28, 2013 at 16:13 #

The hair, the dress, the jewels, the face, the beauty… EPIC!

    She looks flawless

  6. Moxie January 28, 2013 at 16:02 #

Beautiful, but the fit seems off in the hips.

  7. Amy January 28, 2013 at 14:41 #

I can’t get with her style. I find her either really boring or trying too hard.

Also McQueen have this down as being Pre-Fall 2013 not custom.

  8. Alex January 28, 2013 at 14:14 #

Definitely one of my favourites of the night! The dress fits her like a glov, and hair, make up and nacklace are equally beautiful.

I didn’t expect her to wow me THIS much.

  9. Nik January 28, 2013 at 12:26 #

Necklace looks too eighties and I agree the dress seems tight, seams are pulling.

  10. JJ January 28, 2013 at 12:16 #

Love the dress and color, but it is a touch too tight around the hips.

    HOT!!! Shes so stunning!

  13. Elise January 28, 2013 at 11:05 #

It’s a no for me. The gown is one size less, and the necklace looks cheap. Instead, I like the red combo, and she looks very beautiful.

100 times better than her Golden Globes look, I am so happy with this. She looks stunning and is one of my best dressed of the event.

I like the idea of it and the colour but I wish she’d edge out of her comfort zone a little. This photo is very forgiving but in others I’ve seen the dress is clearly too tight across the tummy and hips. The seams are obviously puckering.

    Nice, but no bang.

  18. dressaddict January 28, 2013 at 07:46 #

Gosh, this is so booooring, is this really a McQueen dress? The only thing I like is the colour combination of the dress and the necklace.

  19. Yeliz January 28, 2013 at 07:01 #

Not really loving the necklace with this look. But the gown in combination with her hair makes me love this look nonetheless.

  20. vicky January 28, 2013 at 06:13 #

After staring at it for a long time feeling that there’s something wrong I came to the conclusion that the hair and colour of the dress doesn’t work together.
The necklace is also mot right.
I don’t get the McQueen vibe either, shame.

  21. Lashae January 28, 2013 at 06:11 #

Better than what she wore at the GG but still so blah.

  22. the ogre January 28, 2013 at 05:33 #

i luv her! but she’s good here not great. much better than her calvin klein globes disaster! she shud have worn this one at the globes…sheesh! i still can’t get over her mcqueen greatness at the 2012 oscars…sigh! and dis is so not like a sarah burton design! but nevertheless beauty personified..

  23. Molly January 28, 2013 at 05:30 #

Stunning, but why wear a designer like McQueen when the outfit has nothing McQueen about it? I wish that they would brand pieces like this as Sarah Burton rather than McQueen.

  24. Marybeth January 28, 2013 at 04:49 #

I’m not sold on that necklace with this dress but otherwise it’s very nice.

  25. unvacuous January 28, 2013 at 04:43 #

I think she looks gorgeous. Miles better than the Golden globes. Love the side part for her hair

  26. Fiona-Perth January 28, 2013 at 04:39 #

I think this is a huge improvement on her Golden Globes look, the red gown is gorgeous and I love the vintage diamond necklace. My only nitpick is the fit, it is too tight, the seams are straining – hope the dress makes it through the night!

    • dee January 28, 2013 at 13:16 #

      I agree.

  27. Sanette January 28, 2013 at 04:37 #

I wasn’t really blown away by this. It looks like it’s one size too small for her.

    • Lisa January 28, 2013 at 14:06 #

+1. I was disappointed in this.

  28. SilentVisitor January 28, 2013 at 04:34 #

I think the dress is too tight especially around the mid-section and her hips… better than the Calvin klein disaster but she can do better…….
From the neck up, she looks great

    • Lyo January 28, 2013 at 12:10 #

+1… The dress is to tight and, as said above, doesn’t look like a McQueen at all. To say is a improvement from the GG’s dress isn’t really a compliment, because that gown was a mess.
      She can do better.

  29. yunidemorel January 28, 2013 at 04:24 #

Jessica hit it out of the park! One of the best dress of the night. The dress was amazing, color and fit were perfect. Better than the Calvin Klein she wore at the Golden Globes.

  30. EmmaWoodhouse January 28, 2013 at 04:23 #

Love it all but for the too low neckline. This is the first red-hair/red dress combo that’s worked for me.

  31. shontay January 28, 2013 at 04:22 #

She has never looked better. Stunning.

  32. Nat39 January 28, 2013 at 04:22 #

Looks a bit tight in the hip area, and I´d rather see her carrying a clutch than wearing the necklace, but still very nice overall, her soft waves are very pretty.

    • Leti January 28, 2013 at 14:39 #

+1, especially about the fit. Satin is such an unforgiving fabric….

    • Taksi January 29, 2013 at 01:47 #

Sigh, I agree; shame it would have been perfect otherwise. She always goes a size too small.

  33. SixToOne January 28, 2013 at 04:21 #

i wish she could pick one of the looks from mcqueen spring 13 or pre-fall 13

    • Prudence January 28, 2013 at 04:35 #

thank you!! there are soo many stunning gowns from those collections and yet she picks this, such a plain totally NOT mcqueen look. Idk, this girl has never wowed me and once again this is just good. not great. not special.

      • Christine January 28, 2013 at 04:48 #

Thank you! That would’ve been nice. Although she looks good here.
