Tika Sumpter joined co-star Jordin Sparks on the red carpet at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York City last night, for the screening of their movie, ‘Sparkles’.
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress wore a Bill Blass Fall 2012 gown.
You have to be pretty confident and have an amazing figure to pull of this gold metal knit semi-sheer gown; luckily Tika has that in spades.
I have never been a fan of exposed underwear, but I have to give Tika credit for presenting this look with much elegance plus I have to question if the look would dazzle so much had it been fully-lined.
Super straight locks, glossy lips and natural nails completed her red carpet look.
How do you feel about the exposed panties?

I don’t think “exposed” is always wrong, but I do think that this was the wrong kind of underwear for this dress. Something not as white and high-cut maybe.
+1
“exposed” can be great, but here the nude bodysuit makes her look like a ice skater
She looks super tacky to me due to the exposed underwear and hair.
She looks stunning. I would have loved it even more if her hair was a couple of inches shorter! But nevertheless she works this gown.
Plus: It looks like it is some sort of body(-suit) which makes it more elegant than a pair of briefs and a bra!
I was thinking it was bodysuit too because it appears to be exactly the same shape and colour as the models.
Exactly. But nevertheless I believe she looks stunning. She really rocks this outfit!
I also think she carries it off really well, she looks confident and comfortable with this look.
Agreed, she looks great but the hair needs to be a little shorter. I feel like it overpowers the look.
I thought it was a bodysuit too.
I dont know if it’s the photo, but the exposed panties look odd because you can see them completely, while the legs seem hiden. While would someone want to show the panties only, not the legs?
Whooooaaaaa… never mind the dress, that weave rivals Naomi Campbell’s in THOSE YSL campaign shots!!! Amazing.
Exposed underwear is tacky.
+1,000,000 Otherwise I would love the subtle glitter of this gown…
This look is not working for me, she is not statuesque enough for this dress, and its too long. I dont like the shoulder detail and the exposed underwear is so tacky.
Prefer an exposed bra to the exposed panties look. I also hat the hair and the dress is way too long. She looks like Morticia in reverse.
A body suit that matched her complexion would have been far superior. Also would’ve preferred an updo to show the shoulder detail of the frock.
Sometimes when I’m not quite sure what to make of a look, I take the time to click on the pic and view the Getty images. They usually help me decide.
It seems clear to me that she’s got on a body-suit under the dress, or maybe built into it. I think she looks fabulous. The hair could be shorter, but other than that, it’s a yes for me.
It looks loke she has the same hairline problem as Naomi Campbell.
Her figure is amazing in that dress and the colour is beautiful on her but i’m not sure about the exposed undergarment? I wish she had tied her hair up because she has covered my favourite feature of the dress – the shoulder detailing.
I don’t have a problem with the exposed underwear in this particular case. But I still find this look very… eeeh.
Maybe if she had put her hair up in a pretty updo, I’d find it more interesting.
Could the panty area been lined and the rest the rest left semi sheer? Not really wowed by this look. I think the hair is distraction.
I’m sorry but ‘elegance’ and ‘exposed underwear’ can’t go hand in hand.
Love,
A lady
this is a body suit, not exposed underwear, since its the same as the model’s. she looks fantastic. i love her hair.
I’m sorry but ‘elegance’ and ‘exposed underwear’ can’t go hand in hand.
Love,
I don’t love this look , I think it’s ok.I have to admit this is a better way to do the “underwear trend”. She doesn’t look fab but not vulgar either which is a good thing
Innerwear is meant to be just that, private! This being said, exposed panty aside, she looks fab.
