HBO’s Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features HBO's Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

There were more stars in attendance at the many post-globes parties, than the main event it seems. Here is a look at those who attended HBO’s party on Sunday (January 6).

Angela Sarafyan: The’ Westword’ star was the one person we were all excited to see on the red carpet in 2018. Angela got her 2019 campaign underway wearing a pretty pink Cushnie Resort 2019 gown styled with matching pink earrings, proving last year was no fluke.

Tiffany Haddish: The actress wore a custom Michael Kors Collection that methinks deserved to be on the red carpet at the main event.

Tika Sumpter In Alberta Ferretti – ‘Nobody’s Fool’ Press Conference

Tika Sumpter In Alberta Ferretti - 'Nobody's Fool' Press Conference

Following the New York premiere, Tika Sumpter attended the ‘Nobody’s Fool’ press conference held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on Sunday (October 28) in New York City.

The actress wore an orange, silk long-sleeve Alberta Ferretti Fall 2018 dress.

Some might not like her two-tone shoes, but I like the creative thinking here.

Tan boots or pumps like the runway would’ve been too one note and boring, as would black or navy, so I applaud the “something new” here.

ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

ELLE’s 25th Annual Women In Hollywood celebration which took place on Monday (October 15) in Los Angeles, California, saw a lot more lovely ladies in attendance.

Sara Sampaio: The Portuguese beauty wore a stereotypical sexy Julien Macdonald Spring 2019 dress, which usually isn’t a surprise on most models, but it was for Sara.

Vanessa Hudgens: The actress appeared to be edging back to her boho roots in this Alberta Ferretti Spring 2018 pinafore dress. However, I wonder if the rust-hue denim jacket was necessary to sell this look?

Yara Shahidi: As one of the honorees for the night, the ‘Black-ish’ star donned a look from the co-host Calvin Klein. The dress appears to be a simple yellow sheath, until you clock the satin train at the back. To give the look another edge, she wore dual-colour sandals to round out her look.

Tika Sumpter In Blumarine – ‘The Old Man & The Gun’ New York Premiere

Tika Sumpter In Blumarine - 'The Old Man & The Gun' New York Premiere

Tika Sumpter made a return to the red carpet for the ‘The Old Man & The Gun’ premiere on Thursday (September 20) in New York City.

The actress wore a colourful striped, last-days-of-summer Blumarine Pre-Fall 2018 off-the-shoulder dress with voluminous sleeves for some drama.

I love how she offset the sugar-sweet hues with burgundy clutch, but it really her beauty that steals spotlight with this look.

2018 BET Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The BET Awards is always likely to showcase some unique looks.  This host of gorgeous girls, who joined Janelle Monae and Storm Reid, didn’t let us down at Sunday’s event.

Serayah McNeill: I love this gold lame Alice McCall Fall 2018 ‘Le Petite’ top paired with ‘The Future Is Female’ skirt, mostly for the sculptural skirt. Where Serayah lost me was trying to match her hair colour to the outfit. Established Jewelry, EFFY Jewelry, Graziela Gems and Sara Weinstock jewels completed her look, along with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals.

Ashanti: I’ve always admired Ashanti of not playing it safe, but this Annakiki Fall 2018 look would’ve worked better for me if it was another colour, another fabric and just an inch or two longer. This piece was actually presented with a pencil skirt on the runway, but that would’ve been overkill here.

‘Bessie’ New York Screening

'Bessie' New York Screening

A trio of stars were at the New York screening of ‘Bessie’ that was held at The Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday (April 29) in New York City.

Queen Latifah: Skipping a dress for a long vest and cropped trousers, the actress and executive producer ensured her minimalist, streamlined black ensemble received maximum impact with the addition of bold pendant earrings and cuff bracelets.

Jamie Chung: Taking her look in the completely opposite direction, Jamie wore a Cushnie Et Ochs Spring 2015 dress. While the fresh, baby-pink colour may have been demure, this dress was all grown up with the label’s signature, skin-baring cutouts, black sandals, and a handbag that could have been taken down a size or two.

Tika Sumpter
: I simply cannot get past the unflattering nude illusion paneling and lining of this Zuhair Murad lace jumpsuit that loses its sultry appeal as a result. Brian Atwood sandals completed the look.

I can’t say I was particularly thrilled by any of these looks. Did one catch your attention for the right reasons?

Tika Sumpter In Roland Mouret – 2015 NAACP Image Awards

Tika Sumpter In Roland Mouret - 2015 NAACP Image Awards
Tika Sumpter made a bright appearance on the red carpet of the 2015 NAACP Image Awards, hosted at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California on Friday (February 6).

The Roland Mouret cold-shoulder gown was a statement piece simply by virtue of its sublime teal colour that was especially gorgeous on Tika. The dress featured the designer’s signature folded detail at the asymmetrical neckline for added visual interest.

Truly allowing the striking, structured gown to stand on its own, the actress only carried a small Halston clutch, skipping the jewels and slicking her hair into a tight bun.
