Diane Kruger was stunning in a totally different fashion to the other attendees on the red carpet at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ premiere this evening.
She exuded a soft, serene elegance wearing a Giambattista Valli Couture gown.
The aqua silk draped one-shoulder gown was perfect for her colouring and complemented her natural beauty.
Her blonde hair was swept up into a neat bun whilst she completed her look with silver jewels and a Judith Leiber streamline frosted Lucite clutch.
What a great start to the opening ceremony.

She totally is!!!!!!!!!! I just shouted out one long YESSS!!!!!!!! when I saw this look. The color, the style, the ethereal beauty of the sheer piece flowing out behind her…and above all her astoundingly elegant presence…I officially cannot pick a favorite of the day between her, Fan Bing Bing, and Berenice Bejo.

This was totally not what I was expecting from her after this morning, but I LOVE it! She looks like a modern day Grace Kelly.
I thought of Grace when I first saw this as well. It reminds me of the blue dress that Grace wore in To Catch a Theif. This is beyond stunning…I see that I have my first gown crush of the year! It has been well worth the wait.
Imo she and Cate Blanchett are the only ones who come close to matching the star presence of Grace

I can’t help but think Diane’s reserved expression is due to the same factor as my own: that she had to wear those atrocious triple stacked Casadei heels to sufficiently elevate the hem of this frock. Otherwise, sublime.
I few a majro weakness for blue gowns, so this really fits the bill. She looks beautiful, as per usual, and I am so excited to see what more there is to come from her over the rest of the festival.

The style is nothing special but the colour is absolutely to die for. Personally I hope she sticks to simple, clean, elegant looks because it’s more appropriate for a jury member.
She is hands down the only star who has never disappointed me on the red carpet, and that’s quite something considering she’s been in the spotlight since 2004. I’m presuming we’ll see her in some Calvin Klein at some point, maybe even some Jason WU, but I’d like to see her in some Chanel too, wondering if anything from the Chanel cruise show could be modified for her.
It’s so flowy and the color is so romantic. Only a person of her built can carry such a gown with panache. Anybody else would look huge and boxy. I think best dressed of the night?
