Michelle Pfeiffer Wore Chanel To The 2026 Gotham Awards

Michelle Pfeiffer received the Legend Tribute at the 2026 Gotham Television Awards, an honorary award recognising her impact across film and television, alongside her recent work in Margo’s Got Money Troubles and The Madison.

I have become so used to seeing Michelle in dark tailoring, usually Saint Laurent, that this Chanel Fall 2026 dress genuinely caught me off guard.

Not just because of the colour shift, or even the label change, but because there is something unexpectedly soft about this choice. We are talking texture, a lighter palette, and a floral finish that feels miles away from the sleek, sharp mood she has favoured lately. And honestly? I found it refreshing.

There is something quietly elegant about the way this look sits on her. It feels lighter, less expected, and a reminder that Michelle does not need to rely on the same formula to make an impression. The pleated hem stops this from feeling too precious.

The gold-and-black toe-cap pumps would not have been my first choice, and I suspect a cleaner shoe might have sharpened the finish, but they did little to dampen my enthusiasm. More than anything, I enjoyed seeing Michelle step outside the dark-tailoring comfort zone and remind us there is still room for surprise.
